Hi all.
My name is Liam. I recently got a new well built case from my father after my old one was falling apart. I'm on a serious budget of around £140/$202 and I am looking for a new graphics card.
I have looked at reviews such as Minecraft with shaders with this graphics card, and it looks like it works quite well. The reason why I am looking for one is my GTX680 had 3 massive and powerful fans therefore not being able to fit into the case itself.
Anywho, I was wondering what you thought of this graphics card:
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card
I cannot remember the template for what I will be using it for, data centers, and whatever. But I can remember just as much.
Budget: £140/$202
What am I going to use it for: Video editing, rendering, videogaming, recording, and the rest doesn't really matter.
Any useful information: No, I don't have one of those centres nearby as far as I know of.
EDIT:
Don't judge. I just remembered my old graphics card.

The 960 is nearly the same as a 680 preformance-wise. Not to mention there's mini-ITX 960s for about $200. the 960 isn't gonna last forever, but it's a very good card for cheap 1080p gaming.
I'm overkill and decided to get a 980 Ti for my 1080p dell u2414h (buying 2 more of the u2414h and getting another monitor for a 1-over-3 config).

Looks like it's way out of my budget, but darn. I'm jealous xD

The 770 is marginally better. Like up to about 7 fps better in benchmarks. While I would definitely not recommend the change from a performance standpoint, if the 680 is loud and no longer fits your needs then you could upgrade. The lowest you should be going is a 770 though. A 280x would be the AMD equivalent to a 770 and would probably be the same price second-hand as well.

I found this beauty and put a bid in it. What would your personal profession about it be?

I'll be looking at your suggestion in a few minutes. Thanks again.
(looked at the 280x, I'm not sure which one you are referring to. I'm guessing this one. It's £80 and has 3 days left so I would think it would have around £180 at the end which is way out of my budget.

The 280x will do better in games that start to need more than 2GB of VRAM so gives a slight edge over the 770 in that aspect. Lightning cards are very good and getting a good condition one that is second hand can be hard so if you can get either of those cards then go for it.
There is a reason that there's a lot of MSI cards being sold. Their coolers are about average for a non-reference cooler. It will cool the card just fine but there are definitely better coolers out there. It's better than a reference cooler but not as good as something like a Windforce or EVGA SC cooler.

I still recommend you buy a new case and keep your 680. The performance will be basically the same between a 680 and 770.
Sticking with the Enthoo Pro M as my suggestion

The GTX680 was incredibly noisy and was the main reason why it was sold to me through eBay for £150 with additionally the gigantic size. I don't want to keep it to be honest.

Update: Sorry for the bump.
I sold quite a few things on Ebay but due to taxes on selling them I may have been acquired to have an increased budget of £150, which suggests that I have a much wider range of graphics cards.
I saw the recommended GTX770 before and found out bidding had ended and found the same one here, is it worth it?
Since of my increased budget, I would appreciate suggestions on graphics cards and not cases. Thank you.

BananaInChargeI'm personally a fan of the Enthoo Pro M case from Phanteks. It has a lot of room for large graphics cards and has great airflow. One of the best cases at the £60 mark.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B011A2LWZI/
There are a lot of cases around that will fit your needs. Just make sure to get one with a large graphics card clearance. 300mm is pretty standard for a Mid-Tower ATX case.
Make sure to get a case that is big enough for your motherboard as well. If you have a Micro-ATX motherboard then don't get an ITX case. If you have an ATX board then don't get a Micro-ATX case or ITX case.
An ATX case will fit mainstream consumer boards, the only thing that it won't fit is an EATX motherboard or a board with multiple sockets but I'm assuming you don't have either of those.
I really appreciate it!

I wouldn't recommend getting a Full-Tower as it isn't really suited to what you need and will only take up a load of space for nothing.

+1 for this case. I've never seen it before and I already like it.
I also suggest the Fractal Design Define R5 (or R4 if you want to save a little). It's really great for silence.

Sorry guys again. I am really unsure on parts and I had to keep suggesting which I thought was good or bad. (Thanks for answering with incredibly information by the way.)
Thanks!
If you'd like, we can give case suggestions.
Sure. Would love that.

I highly suggest giving up on getting a new GPU, sell the case you have and buy a bigger case for like 60 quid. You'll save money and keep your high performing card
This is the best option.

I appreciate the suggestions, but I just got an update and my budget has dropped. I went into some investigation however and found this graphics card.
EVGA GeForce GT 740 1GB
Bare in mind, my budget is now £90, sadly.

Don't buy that card. It is in no way worth it. Compared to your 680 which will be playing games on high settings with fantastic frame rate it will be struggling to play on low settings at a suitable frame rate.

There's hard to compare GPU by just looking at names and specs, experience is the best comparement. And who has better experience than Nvidia themselves? http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650/performance
1
Well Nvidia will be extremely bias to their own products so aren't really a good place to start if you are open to either AMD or Nvidia

I got a R9 270x for my build, but I would leave your card, it's miles above the 750.
What I would do is save up for a better price range, because you could get far more for better pricing and better deals.
Check out the 100-200$ price comparison on Newegg.

If you can afford the extra then this R9 290 will smash both a 380 and 960 in every game:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/b-grade- ... 79-ms.html
Your 960 choice isn't bad, you will likely see no improvement in graphics power against your 680 though.
If you can't afford the extra then a 280 for £110 is still a fantastic offer and will perform almost as good as a 960
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/b-grade- ... 47-ms.html
Don't buy that 270x though because I plan on buying it for crossfire, thanks haha

I recommend an R9 380 over a GTX 960 but if you absolutely have to stay with Nvidia then the 960 is not a bad choice
1
I'm not chosing Nvidia over any other graphics card so please stop thinking that. I'm looking for the best under my budget.

Does anyone recommend the PNY GTX960?

Thanks guys! I don't (believe) I need the extra RAM, although I am totally unsure about this subject which is why I came to you.
I shall certainly check your suggestions out! Once again thank you

Any time!
Also, if you're willing to spend a little more, you can get something like a GTX 970 which is one of the best cards out there for the price.

How about a used GTX 770? It's literally a rebrand of the 680 with a clockspeed bump. This model uses a shorter 2-fan design that will probably fit in your case: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MSI-GeForce-G ... SwFMZWsQva
I also suggest the R9 280X if you need the extra VRAM.

This 280x will give good performance, very similar to a 680 in most games.

If you want to stick with Nvidia then a 770 or 960 is a good option to go for if you want 1080p performance

The 680 is miles better than any 2GB 750 Ti so you would be getting a lesser experience. I suggest looking on Overclockers' clearance line for at least a 770 to get matched performance
