This isn't fear mongering, this is making sure everyone is safe.

Ebola isn't going to spread very rapidly. I'm not sure if this is allowed to be mentioned, due to the sexual nature of the disease, but AIDS is easier to get, is what I've heard. I don't think the entire world has been killed by AIDS.

Sure, ebola kills people more rapidly than other diseases, and is basically a silent disease until it's too late, but the epidemic is pretty-well controlled in the United States.

As a Massachusetts-dweller, I'm a bit concerned that someone with it might come in through Logan Airport, but there's already been multiple concerns, and none of them were positive.

Although it's not going to kill off the human race, there is still a decent risk from it. It's spreading slowly but surely though the USA. Everyone only thought that the disease was only in the south of the country, but earlier in the week someone was tested positive for it in New York.

The danger risk mainly depends on how much it evolves. If it mutates to become airborne, (which is quite unlikely, as many scientists have confirmed) then in simplest terms, we're screwed. But if it can evolve to become airborne, then it is also likely to mutate to become harmless. (Or it could become a super deadly virus that is conscious, and makes zombies who want to blow up the earth by building jets that push the earth out of its orbit and into the sun). Although all of the possibilities are unlikely, anything is possible in the world of science.

Edit: That "From Pigs to Monkeys, Ebola Goes Airborne" article was published in 2012. It hasn't become airborne yet in humans, so we're probably fine. The pigs and monkeys with the airborne-mutated virus were probably immediately "put down" and their bodies were probably burned to ash, which was then probably dumped into a hazmat container, and stored in a place where it will never see the light of day ever again.
