Seem like a pretty bold claim? Well, it's safe enough to make this claim. What makes us truly stand out from the rest is not the content we put out. Anyone can create an amazing story filled with great visuals and atmosphere if they wanted to.

We take the time to venture out of the spawn point, we're always innovative and creative and looking for new ways to present our projects. Eight Point State Project was first founded in 2013 by two individuals - we've re-branded several times, split up several times. Our vision and goal however, has not changed over the course of the three roller-coaster years. And our vision and motto we stand by is

"To provide and to create high-quality, handcrafted and beautifully created Machinima content for all ages and genre lovers to enjoy."



Why Should I join 8Point State Project is a very good question. And it's probably and most likely pondering inside your head. As mentioned from the above context, we do things differently - Unlike any other Machinima Production company out there.
By joining 8Point State Project we will guarantee that you will always be learning something new. Whether it would be learning some insight on body acting or learning new methods of script writing, you'll always be learning.

If you're dying to pursue a career in film - we have your back. Our Administrators and Executives have been working on Independent films for years on end, we can guarantee you will gain more experience and knowledge and of course, learn a thing or two about the process of film development.

Our team is full of creative, innovative, versatile individuals. We have an amazing team environment where almost everyone gets along. However - there are always bumps along the road - but these bumps allows you to mature and develop as a person. In 8Point State Project, we believe that working with us will strengthen your maturity as well as leadership skills. You'll learn a few things about proposing new projects, script writing, and above all - working in a team environment and collaborating with others on a daily basis.

8Point State Project is always seeking and recruiting new individuals to board the ship.
Joining 8Point State Project is a rather simple process, but it does take time to process. Each person will be required to fill in an application in order to ensure efficiency within’ our staff. We currently have two divisions that are applicable at this time.

We have our two available divisions that you can currently apply for. Please be advised that new individuals will be transferred over to Cast Division until a time period has passed. Each division specializes in it's own purpose. It's better then having forty and more staff members cramped in wondering what they need to do? We're pretty organized, and we're good at that.

Cast Division
Our Cast Division is primarily the most popular choice for people to apply to. It requires responsibility but not too much. The Division is relaxed, the Cast Division is known and specialized for one thing, and one thing only and that is to body act for our upcoming projects. Some individuals get the special opportunity to voice act in our upcoming projects. Primary most individuals stick to body acting rather then venturing out to the Voice Acting realm.

The name of the division practically explains it all - there's not much more to explain about the Cast Division. If your in the Cast Division - you will receive dates of filming and will be advised the dates and times. Which is basically the only way it works.

Crew Division
Our Crew Division inside 8Point State Project is the division that has the most amount of people. Listing around twenty or so individuals. These individuals specialize in a wide variety of tasks that make a Machinima project successful. So inside the Crew Division we have separate Departments.
These Departments are
Scheduling
Script Development
Set Design & Building
Creative Arts & Graphics
Filming & Shooting
Editing
Each of these departments play a crucial role in maintaining the success of projects. Without these departments, projects will soon become more difficult to complete. Being apart of the Crew Division may be stressful at times, long hours of commitment and determination is required and due dates must be met at all times. No exceptions. It is a very demanding and rigorous job.



8Point State Project has a set list of requirements that must be met before applying.
Joining 8Point State Project isn’t as easy as submitting an application and waiting for a return e-mail stating your acceptance into our team. It takes a few more steps than that. We have several requirements for our Cast Division as well as our Crew Division. Each department has separate requirements. If you do not meet the minimum requirements you are not eligible to join 8Point State Project at this time.

Before applying, please read over the following requirements listed below and ensure that you are qualified for the position, whilst submitting your application, please ensure you are filling out the information one hundred percent accurately and truthfully, remember, we can always find these things out.

Minimum Requirements must be met before applying, recommended requirements are not required but could increase your chances of acceptance with us.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CAST DIVISION
Minimum Age requirement at this current time is 12 years of age.
Must have access to Discord, essential for team communication - prior knowledge not required.
Contribution hours is atleast and a minimum of 3 hours weekly.
You must be willing to be level-headed and mature upon instruction and command.

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS FOR CAST DIVISION
Prior Knowledge to Machinima Development
Knowledge of Discord and setting up Push-To-Talk

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CREW DIVISION
Minimum Age requirement at this current time is 14 years of age
Must have access to Slack, essential for team communication - prior knowledge not required.
Must have access to Skype, essential for personal discussions, prior knowledge not required
A working microphone is required for comfortable communication.
Contribution hours is atleast and a minimum of 4 hours weekly.Some knowledge with Scriptwriting, editing, scheduling, etc.
You must be willing to be level-headed and mature upon instruction and command.

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS FOR CAST DIVISION
Prior Knowledge to Machinima Development
Knowledge to software such as Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas Pro, etc.
Knowledge on sound designing using Audacity.
Knowledge of Discord and setting up Push-To-Talk



As of now you can only submit your application using an Application Form. Before you had the choice of submitting your application by creating a comment on the thread and using a template but we felt like it was good to keep track of the applications sent in with one resource. Below will be a Google Forms website where you can submit the application for 8Point State Project. Please know that we can only read so much applications at once - It may take up to 24 hours to get a response from us. Our response is now sent via E-Mail and not Skype. As of June 2016 - All staff members must have access to Discord which is an essential tool used for communication among the staff members.

As of August 2016 - due to heavy volume of applications coming in monthly, denied applicants cannot reapply for two months time. Sorry about this inconvenience. The application form has been revamped and redesigned with new questions.

As of October 2016, all interviews will be done via the Discord Communication Servers and not on Skype. It is highly recommended you join our Discord servers when applying.
