Everything You Know About Slime Spawning
Hey guys! For my YouTube series I am looking to do a lot of technical stuff. Unfortunately, I'm not too gifted in the technical department.
My current project is a Slime farm, I've already located the slime chunks and have started clearing out the area; however, I am not very keen on the whole slime spawning thing. I understand that slimes only spawn in swamps or on spawn chunks. I also know that slimes don't spawn above Y = 40 in a slime chunk, but this is literally the only knowledge I have. My request is that you leave everything you know in this post and I will put it in a spoiler for the people that also need help. Even if it is something already mentioned please lay it on me.
Thank you again!

since 1.8 slimes can swim so are harder to transport via water

Use lit-pumpkins and/or redstone lamps with redstone blocks for lighting. They don't like torches (I think)
