IP is probably fine, but you also need the port number it is set to. And if you haven't done so and your going through a router you'll have to set up port forwarding. The port number can be found in server.properties file and then you forward that port to the machine your hosting the server on. To do that you'll need to access your router (192.168.x.x) X meaning those have a tendency to change,
