Hiya, I have an idea, not sure if its worth anything, but it would be nice to make folders for all the things I've made so that I can organize things better for myself and for the people looking through my skins and such.

For example, I have skins that I made for general use, skins that are requests from my skin shop, and finally skins that I use in my texture packs for archiving and so that nobody can steal them and post them as their own. I'd like to separate these into three categories for easy searching.

Anyways, I'm just throwing this out there to be picked up or not.

I can't find a way to do this yet on the site, so I'm assuming it's not possible... I would love it if I could group my skin creations together as a theme so people know the general theme of the group. It would also be nice to have an option to download all of the themed skins at once, like a download pack if possible. Also if someone came across a skin that I created, they could view all the others in the same group.

If someone already posted this idea, sorry for the re-post, couldn't find it. Also if there is a way to do this already, can someone explain it to me ? thanks!

Game on,

There isn't a way to do this... yet. Another member, suggested the idea of adding folders for organizing their skins based on why they created them (skin request, new, archive, etc) If I added the ability to make a group public vs private, the two ideas are the same underlying system. Your idea takes it one step further where the organization in turn creates new functionality for the community. A download pack is possible. I could code site to create a zip file on the fly.

Thanks for the response! Yeah any extra organizational control of skins and projects is a plus in my book :)

The UTD uploads a lot of projects, many of which are in schematic for raw ease and convenience, but we also use Adf.ly, but when we have to upload the MCEdit schematic, we don't make any money for our work, its only five seconds, and we think that is fair because of the quality of engineering we provide.

This is a feature that has been gone for way too long, please allow this feature, all it would take is a few minutes to make the link button and integrate it.

Another less pressing request, is if you could please add a the ability to archive files in one post, this would allow things like cannon series, to only take up one post, and I think it would be useful, or at least the ability to make "folders" or "playlists".

Please get back to us when you get the chance.

Services like adf.ly have been specifically disallowed in the rules after moderator discussion (see the updated rule #13). The idea of having a folder of projects has been suggested before and this post will be merged into that thread.

What! Please explain this, I think that is completely unfair. What about existing links?

All existing links need to have the ad fly link removed and the actual destination put in its place. And this is not fair as a discussion was held between the moderators and the decision was made that it falls under the advertising rules. Please remove all ad fly links. Submissions found with them will be hidden until the links are removed.

Ok, so what is your position on archiving? I have seen many project sites do it, for example Fallout3nexus.com. They allow previous versions of mods and such, to be uploaded. I think we should take a similar approach.
