8. In Use the following DNS server addresses, enter all the IP addressses for the DNS servers your router uses.

On this step make only the preferred dns the same as the ip address you entered.

Here is a detailed tutorial on how to do it. I use this method myself.

you don't need to do that. you can use Dynamic DNS that tracks your ip adress and make it to another ip address like my server: flixwall.serveminecraft.net:25566
to do that, you can use no-ip: no-ip.com

ok, it is just some ip stuff.

1. check that the server is in online mode in server.propeties

2. make sure that the internal ip address is static (it dosen't change)

3. check that you have port forwarded the internal ip, not the external

4. make sure the port is correct

5. log in with ip-address:port ex: 88.876.0.12:25565
remember to log in with the external ip if you are outside the network.

nvr mind my external ip is not static. i double checked today and it changed. i put ipv4 address in server.proprties didn't work. probably because of non static external ip

I didn't put anything in the server ip section because people told me not to. Currently, it is blank. should I put in my ipv4 address?

In your server.properties make sure for server IP you put your IPV4 address and NOT your external address.

Do you have a static IP address? Meaning it doesn't change.
