Didn't know that. I will keep using win7 as long as i could. To bad, I've read somewhere wind 8 had had like 1% of users (few months of comming out)

Well, support for Windows 7 ends on 2021 or something like that. 'Till then you'll get support from it's users. But you should change to 8 or 8.1 ASAP.

Mainstream support ends in 2015

so what happens if i don't switch and i just solve the issue(s) myself?

Nothing? If you have to put in another key because of a new motherboard, but don't have another key for 7, then don't call MS, they will charge you to help you. Once extended support ends, that means no more security updates, which means it's unsafe to use, just like XP is unsafe to use.
And to the person that said only 1% use Windows 8, you're kinda right. 8 and 8.1 are two different OS's. No one should be using 8, or anything. Everyone should be on 8.1.

choose win 7 better than 8, go on 8gb ram and like mugein said depends on budget you're prepared to pay

Windows 7 support ends in about 6 month. Right now it's a waste of money to get that. If you get a PC built anywhere except the USA, you can get Windows 8 and upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free.
