I've got bored during the day as usual and decide to go to pcparkpicker.com to build a PC meant for gaming. After some digging, this is what I've got. Link to build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4tPBGX. If you could write a construct opinion of the build, that would be great!

My friend said that Crossfiring HD 7750's would be better than the R9 290 and it would be cheaper. Is he right?

I've looked at a few builds that runs with about 150-500 FPS that have a Radeon R9 7750(+). I was wondering if it would be better than the Radeon R9 290.

There is no R9 7750, there is a Radeon HD 7750, which is pretty much a r7 250. It's not one bit better than a R9 290. 290 is about 3-5 times faster than a 250 (7750)

Will I get better FPS then my current (pre-built) desktop? The desktop gets around 20-40 FPS in Minecraft and get's about 0-1 FPS in other games such as DayZ (Modded Version). With this PC, would I get more? (Most likely yes and this is a stupid question!)

I need 16 GB or RAM because of Adobe After Effects and Running Photoshop simultaneously. If you are just going to game, you're better off with 8 GB just to be safe.

Also, why get a GTX 780? You should try for a GTX 780 TI. And the new graphics card from NVIDIA are coming out soon with the same specs, but way cheaper price. You should wait if you are not desperate for a new computer.

The computer is built for gaming and light workspace so I wouldn't need 16GB of RAM (also saying I don't have photoshop or After Effects).

Get 8gb ram, a cheaper z97 mobo, a regular psu, and upgrade that gpu to something like a 290. How much is that ssd? You may be able to get a cheaper one.

Why downgrade the RAM? Also, define a "regular" psu.

Unless you're going to be gaming, rendering, virtualising and recording at the same time you won't need 16GB.

Because for gaming 16gb ram is an utter waste of money. A regular PSU is one that doesnt say "gaming" like the corsair cx430m and will be cheaper. There are almost no differences between a gaming psu and that one.

Ok, but I didn't choose the power supply because it was a "gaming" one. I'll switch that out, downgrade the RAM. (Noob question but do I need to upgrade the video card for a better GPU?)

Yes. Go with an R9 290 or a GTX 770 or something. I don't think a 660TI will cut it.

Ok. I added a GTX 780 since reducing the RAM and switching the PSU cut down on the cost.

I've now changed up the build a bit so hopefully the system is balanced. This is one of my first builds so I don't know much yet.

i agree with Killertoad, At least get a SSD for Your OS, And probably a 7200RPM Harddrive. Thats probably the best options.

Good luck!

It's pretty unbalanced, no reason for the i7, as I assume you're not rendering (because of the low amount of ram you selected). so a 4690(k) would be better.

And 4GB's of ram is kinda low, especially for this budget.

GPU is really low-end for the budget. Should have atleast a 290 in this budget.

Never heard of that harddrive, but it's slow anyways. Should have an SSD in this budget as well.

And no need for a "gaming" psu, as they are not different than a regular PSU, other than costing more.

Most Likely a bottleneck Because of that graphics card.... Probably lower the Specs and get a 4770k and a Nvidia gtx 770 or 780.

(Source: I have a 4770k and a GTX 780 Best Choices Ever made.)

Also, Maybe You could do with a bit more RAM. What are You using this computer for?
