Headset Decision
I'm thinking of getting Astro a40s with the mix amp once I have enough money, but one of my friends are saying to wait a bit longer than that and get Nagas. Which one do you guys think is better?

believe what you want, They aren't supposed to stop you from blinking

We know this. He was saying you will get the same effect from the glasses as you would from blinking every now and then.
I have used gunnars before as well. There's no difference, except for the color, which I find annoying.

well i can wait and buy the headset, or i could get gunnars http://shop.gunnars.com/gaming-eyewear/l/200#.

It's a marketing ploy. I've played with those before and if you blink every once in a while, it does the same thing.

Ask your parents to use theirs. If they won't let you, then give us a website that we can take listings from.

idk, my computer is not a custom built one, it is a generic HP computer from 2008.

I bought a40s with the mixamp for my Xbox One. I recently built a computer for light/moderate gaming, among other things. I use the a40s to talk on Skype and record my voice for videos. The audio quality is above average (nothing amazing, but it might be my audio card). However, they're very lightweight and comfortable, and the mic quality is very good. The thing is... I don't even use the mixamp. So unless you're going to be using it for a console, you could just buy the headset and save $100 (USD)

the mix amp set is the only one they have : /
And my sound card sucks.

These are great. Sound is pretty good for a gaming headset, Mic and build quality is amazing, and its compatible with every platform

Just a reminder, If they are based in a country outside Australia and you cannot buy or get them shipped to Australia, DO NOT suggest it.

You would need to buy a PC adapter, but that'll only set you down about $20 AUD.

Mate, I'm a 13 year old on a extremely tight schedule, I don't have time or money for that

They're cheaper than A40's.

Get some headphones and get the bluesnowball

Guys, I'm looking for something to replace a kinda broken pair of discontinued logitechs that will be somewhat suited for gaming.

At my local EB Games/Gamestop, the Astro a40 + mix amp is only about $130.
Looking around the $100-$200 mark, stick with the price range

Buy the Corsair Vengeance 1500. I use it and it is epic. Recent videos on my YouTube channel demonstrate it in action.

I think he wants something more in the $250 to $300 range

This is the only way I have seen astros break https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHqb83Gdzk0 (swearing)

I have the astro a40 2013 edition with the mixamp and I love them!! I have them almost since their release and they are really good.I dropped them a lot if times and they don't even have a scratch. The mic and the sound used to cut off but if you update the firmware on the mixamp it will fix it.

I say Turtle Beach. They're pretty good.
I don't mean to start a flame war.

I partially agree with ElectricLlamaz. Turtle Beaches are good, and not as bad as they're made out to be. But honestly, I'd go with Tritton's 720+ (http://www.trittonaudio.com/prod/720plus-pc.asp).
1
Not trying to flame here, but Turtle Beach are aimed at console users. Also the headset has a lot of static in it and its sorta annoying (I use to own one) and they break VERY easily.
1
I've checked out the Turtle Beaches at the two major local game stores (Gametraders & EB Games/Gamestop) They are all pretty bad for the amount of use, and none of them come with a mix amp, starting to lean in the astro's favour, but that can change.

I would get the ATH-AG1 from Audio Technica, the sound quality is some of the best in a gaming headset and the mic is high quality.

Can you get them in Australia and if so, How much?
