My friend and i are trying to play minecraft but everytime he opens minecraft aftr about 2 min it shuts down we have tried playing in browser downloading and shutting down his whole computer. He said that he tried installing a mod earlier and messed it up could that have something to do with it? Ideas on how to fix it plz!

You could get rid of the whole .minecraft folder and install a new one

I'm guessing you already fixed it, but usually you can just force update in the options at login.
