Help with Driver 2 on PS please?

I have this major issue w/ driver 2 story mode (undercover) I have finished all of the missions on Chicago and Havana and now it asks me to put in disc 2. when i do, disc 2 tells me to put in disc 1.
- I have saved both my story mode progress and my settings (ive heard that worked)
- I am playing this on the PS2, so that might be the problem
- The first disc has had some troubles starting the story mode properly
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you doing it with a physical disc or emulator? If you're swapping disks, put in Disc 1 first and when it loads the memory card and asks you to put in Disc 2, you have to eject the game while the console is still on and put in the second disc. It sounds dangerous, but it is how it used to be done with games such as Metal Gear Solid. In the case of an emulator, see if there is an option to change discs. (Am not entirely sure, I know PlayStation emulators have this option, not familiar with any other emulator)
