So... I thought Minecraft was OK. But hell nah.

First of all. Here are my PC Specs:
2x GTX 1070 Gaming X (2Sli)
i7 4790K (not OC atm)
16GB Ram
MSi Krait Sli. Motherboard.

Now, when i install Shades. I expect to be able to run in Medium/High Shaders..
BUT HELL NAH! Even on Lite/Low it have's barely 45 Fps.
Which is weird AF!.

Help?
I'm Running Windows (Suck my Life) 10.
Ain't able to go down... Idk why. But no one can downgrade me to 8.1. While i have the disk xD.

My PC can Run GTA V in 4K Ultra at 75Fps.
And yes. MC Doesn't support sli (Noobs) But. a 1070 is a beast...

Help?

I suggest you take out one card and have one 1070 in it and then get optifine and also 45fps is fucking good also run it at a lower resolution you only need 1080p or even 720p for minecraft and minecraft has framelock settings so suggest you turn those up to infinite

Are your monitors plugged into the GPUs, and not the motherboard?

Honestly if you're running shaders at 4K don't expect any high framerates, even if you got a beast Titan X Pascal in there. Minecraft isn't exactly optimized well, so I suggest you drop you resolution down to 1440p or even 1080p. 1080p is where I get stable 60fps at SEUS (Extreme preset) with the same graphics card you're using.

If you don't want to reduce you resolution try reducing the RENDER resolution. Try x0.7 or x0.5 if you're fine with how it looks. It's also worth noting to use the lightest shaderpack available to at least stabilize at 60 fps.

But honestly IMO just don't use shaderpacks at 4K.

Click to reveal
Disable Smooth FPS in Options --> Video Settings --> Performance. It will destabilize your framerate but provide a substantial 20% FPS boost.

I run 20FPS on my 980Ti @ 1080p with shades, everything maxed. Never played with those settings though, besides taking the occasional screenshots.

Try dedicating more ram of changing your default graphics card i had a problem so i changed my graphics card and now i can run smoothly on 512MB of ram

I'm going to assume english isn't a first language here. Minecraft really is not a modern game. Updates really introduce little optimization and shaders devs don't really do the same. If you want a game that looks beautiful and have given up on the shaders, go buy Rocket League. You could probably get 80+fps on max settings. If not, have fun.

Well my evga ftw 750ti can handle sues ultra on medium settings and 3dx32 faithful at 5760x1080 at 20fps (looks like 60 though) with optifine on and a couple other mods like better foilage

Sounds about right. If you downscale your framerate by the same ratio of the screen resolutions, you get 15FPS. A GTX 1070 is approximately 339% faster than a 750 Ti, and 339% of 15 is about 51. Performance scaling more or less adds up.

Whahaha. i guess MineCraft ain't modern... No SLI Support... Poor working for 1070...
What else?
Btw, i allocted now 6000mb Ram. and only 15% of it is used... & the FPS are still low. While CPU usage is low too... Bruh.... F*Ck minecraft on the point.

Minecraft is fairly modern - it released in 2011. Games don't need to support SLI to be "modern;" in fact, there are plenty of new games out there with no multi-GPU support.

Minecraft runs fine on a GTX 1070. You easily get several hundred FPS, even at 4K. Shaders, on the other hand, don't run well at 4K on any graphics card as I and others have stated several times throughout this thread.

As we have said several times already, RAM isn't the issue. It's the shader packs you're running as well as the limitations of the shaders mod.

There is currently nothing you can do to make shaders run better short of buying a better GPU.

I installed and older version of Geforce Experience stuff.
And deleted the newest driver.

Now the RAM Is fixed.

Imma go try Shaders now

I was having that issue with the latest GeForce driver as well, though it would only happen when trying to capture the game using OBS.

Your performance will shaders will not change.

XenoniussGuys, everyone here saying they should run it fine, you're forgetting a single thing...
He's running at 4K.

Minecraft shaders at 4K res is basically a no-go for a 1070, that's how badly optimised MC is... No other issues but that, so yeah, your performance is perfectly normal.

(If you want higher FPS, downscale to 1440p)

While you're definitely right about pretty much everything here, I should point out that it's not Minecraft's relatively poor optimization causing the performance hit; rather, it's the lack of optimization on the part of shader developers as well as the hack-in nature of the current shader mods.

Luckily this may change in the near future with Nova, which is essentially a graphics engine overhaul mod that is built from the ground up with shaders in mind. I have no clue if and when it will be released, but I'm hopeful.

Wait, i found something. i pressed F3 in-game. and only 499MB is allocted... Bruh!
I'll add the screenshot in here... xD

Screenshot made during NO mods, settings on High and in 4K.
Then i'll get 200+ FPS .
But as you can see on the top right. Allocated: 100% 499MB.?

But it must be atleast 10240

This is exactly what I was trying to say, didn't think SEUS wouldn't load at all though. Lower your render resolution as said before and it should work.

Guys, the solution is simple: a 1070 is not capable of properly running shaders at 4K. I should know - my 1080 struggled to keep a consistent 60FPS with shaders at 4K.

it might be something thats stupid like changing a setting... from fast to fancy....

i literally have no idea why but i had a weird issue where my frames were low near glass until i RAISED a setting.... i dont even know.....

but you might have a problem where youll need to change a setting and it could be something low that needs to be raised to something higher

also to check allocated ram:
open the launcher
hit edit profile (bottom left)
hit "JVM Arguments" (also bottom left)
there should be something looking like "-Xmx3072M -Xmn512M"
m is megabytes which with ram 1024 megabytes is 1 gigabyte

you said 8000gb before but you likely meant mb

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte
1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte
1024 mega = 1 giga
1024 giga = 1 tera

btw i was wondering if so and after asking someone they said that if you did manage to get a terabyte of ram (with one extra to run the rest of the system) you could and should be able to get it working when its allocated to minecraft....

but you could change the settings in the shaders options to make the resolution for what you see smaller or play in fullscreen with a lower resolution (i suggest so that theyre the same ratio like 1600x900 is 16x9 and 3200x1800 would be the same)

that should help with frames but its better then mine but its true with the game not being optimized well and same with shaders.... and even if gta 5 has good shading since its built to work with the shading its not going to be as substantial in terms of frame drops while minecraft would as it has to change with terrain thatll usually change alot.....

also @Aeropulse i think since they have 16 gb then 6 gb ram might be good...

btw when i was speaking of the ram thing "-Xmx6144M -Xmn512M" should be good btw im pretty sure you can allocate in gb not just mb but megabytes imo are better to allocate with as you can allocate alot more seperate amounts like 512 aka half a gb

Defiantly odd, I run with 1x GTX1080, and I can run with shaders fine - a 1070 should be able to do the same if not simular...

My 1080 struggles to run shaders at 4K - I can barely maintain 60FPS with lite/medium packs. Since you have a 1070, lower performance is expected.

This isn't a Minecraft issue - Minecraft has no problem running at high framerates at 4K (even with high-res texture packs). The sole cause of the problem is poor shader pack optimization.

You probably just don't have enough memory allocated to minecraft. I don't know what that would have to do with shaders lagging, but that's the only possible reason I could think of with those specs. Heck, I only have a 970 and I can run high shaders.

Wait, are you talking about Minecraft's allocated memory, or the space on your hard drive? Something tells me that:
1. you don't have half your RAM allocated to MC
2. I'm pretty sure you can't even get 8000 GB in RAM, let alone simply allocate that much to Minecraft.

I mean 8000gb Space for my GPU xD.

And you mean with Allocated RAM, that's just my Aviable ram? right? That's 15,95 GB

(I'm just gonna ingore the "space for gpu" thing, cause that makes no sense)

Allocated RAM is different from total RAM.

Basically, it's the limit for how much of your RAM Mincraft is allowed to use at any given moment. Generally the default allocation amount is too low for modding, so people up it. Chances are this is your problem, and you can change it fairly easily (googling it should help you out.) With your amount of RAM, I'd say 2-3 GB should be plenty.

K so I just typed out this paragraph basically explaining what your problem may be, but PMC's cloudfare seems to hate me and didn't let me post. Anyway, in essence, what I said is that Optifine isn't a magic performance beast and you shouldn't rely on it for performance. MC in general is very poorly optimized, and the same goes for shaders. If you're running MC with shaders at 4K that would definitely explain your issue, but to test, give us your performance on SEUS v11 with max settings.
