How many donations to your Minecraft server do you get?
How many donations do you get in average each month? Just thought this would be good to know if donations can pay for a Minecraft server or not

1. £500~ https://gyazo.com/1717264e57f8fd8d4bf7aa4652be48dd
2. 3.5 GB (32GB machine)
3. 475-ish individuals https://i.gyazo.com/113481c674393c410e5 ... d79fd8.png
To reiterate the previous comments, I've ran the server for 6 years now and paid for it myself for the first three.
Please pay attention to the EULA, and don't let kids waste money
As people can only donate for cosmetics, the key is community. Make them look and feel special for helping out.

1. Average $150/month ($3600 lifetime)*
2. 32GB, but I use the box for various things. I wasn't an idiot who bought a MC-centric server. Generic for life.
3. Lasting players about 20, but I get a lot of passthroughs too which would take it to 40-50 a day.
*I've not had a single donation for over a year. My income is from forum advertising, but that also includes the ads on my mods. (I left out AdFly and Curse though which are solely from mods). I get about twice what I pay for the server.

How much $ do you get per 1000 forum page views?
1
If anyone is wandering why my previous answer may seem strange to some people, it's because I self-host my server.
1
Rule of the thumb: Don't bother if you can't sustain a server yourself for a while without any donations at all.

^^
Me at the moment.
I'm for already 4 years running servers from my own pocket, got a few donations but they were not enough. But I'm still enjoying doing it, and that's why I didn't stop!

1. ~£500
2. 242GB (Across all my nodes)
3. N/A (I sell server space from my dedicated box privately, no idea who goes on them)

1. $300-$400 USD (Proof of lifetime sales https://gyazo.com/a70fd45b8db205a8dd26d74c69920562)
2. 3GB
3. 20-30 weekdays, 30-40 weekends.
Side note: If you're looking to start a minecraft server, DO NOT do it for the profit. It will take several months of hardcore grinding and working just to have a decent chance, with then again is never guaranteed as starting up a server nowadays is extremely tough. Do it because you want to make one genuinely.
There are MUCH better ways to get money for less time and work, such as working at a fast food place or doing chores for your neighbors

Obviously you do it for the fun of playing and not extra money
I just want to know if it's affordable to keep up a server

MrrMidnightNewSuperMarioCurrently, the average money donated per GB RAM is around 4.5$ per month! That's quite a lot
(Counting with only the people who specified exact amount of RAM)
Depending on which hosting you use.
Well, there are still a couple of hosting services that are cheap enough for that
Most hosting services sell for like 5-10$ though, but 4.5 is still pretty close to 4.5

Depending on which hosting you use.
If you use OVH it's quite a profit, if you host on MCProHosting, you're really low.

lmao

The EULA still allows donations afaik, as long as you don't give any unfair features in game in exchange for the money?
1
I think he meant that it is almost impossible to get those kind of donation amounts in a month with that less players, without having P2W perks on your server.
1
Oh yeah it does seem a bit weird to be able to get that much but back to topic
