Open Positions:
Many positions are open. Most of the roles are hands-on, where you personally contribute to the construction yourself. Here are the jobs and who currently is in them. Each job has a requirement that you must satisfy when applying. If one's open and you have the skills to do it, feel free to apply!
The person that owns and runs the server. Can also be a builder. Helps the project managers decide where to build the city, tells what hours the server will be running. NOTE: I would prefer the server has something like WorldEdit on it, as well as plugins that ensure only people on the build team can modify buildings.
Project Manager (PM): Youssarian
The Project Manager is the main person who oversees the construction of the project and guides it in the general direction it needs to go, sometimes even doing work himself.
Assistant Project Manager (APM): open!
Helps the Project Manager in steering the project in where it needs to go. Must be able to visualize the project's intended goal and help people get to it. Must also be mature. Should be able to listen to people when needed and make educated decisions.
At present moment, only one Asst. Project Manager is needed. If the amount of people working on the Ultimate City gets large enough, another one may be needed.
Requirement: 1-3 examples of multiplayer projects you've led or helped lead in the past.
Lead Designer (LD): open!
Leads the design team. Talks with others to come up with good-looking visual designs and sees that they are constructed. Can take part in construction as needed.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of different projects showing your design skills.
Designer: open!
Several people can have this role. All designers come up with good-looking block designs and layouts.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of different projects showing your design skills.
Lead Redstone Engineer (LRE): open!
Is experienced with the various fields of redstone and piston mechanics: logic gates, latches, flip-flops, repeaters, pulsers, pistons, etc. Work with builders to lay out and wire redstone circuits. Leads the redstone team.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of dfferent projects showing your redstone and piston skills.
Redstone Engineer (RE): open!
Several people can have this role. Must have good knowledge of how redstone and pistons works. Don't need to be jacks-of-all-trades, but have at least average skill. Work with foremen and builders to lay out and wire redstone as needed.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of different projects showing your redstone and piston skills.
Foreman: open!
Several people can be foremen. This person oversees the team building one or more buildings at a given time. A foreman may lead a team building one large building, or several smaller ones all next to each other. Team sizes will vary depending on how many people are working on the project, how big the building(s) are, and so on. Builds along with the team. Must show enough maturity and responsibility to lead a group, otherwise may not get further foreman positions.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of different projects showing your ability to build good-looking buildings.
Builder: open!
Several people are needed for this role, and they may also have other jobs as well except foremen. These people do the grunt work. If a person shows they can work in a team well and request it, they could be used as foremen in other projects.
Requirement: 1-3 pictures or videos of different projects showing you can build well.
I realize that not everyone can commit long term to a project, and that's alright. If you can only be around long enough to make one or two houses that's fine.
When applying to join the team, you must fill this out:
Username:
Age:
Location (only need to be specific enough that I can know your time zone) or Time Zone:
Position desired:
What times can you work?:
For how long can you work (a few days, a week, until December, etc.)?:

If you have a server and would like to host the Ultimate City, please let Youssarian know!
Info about the city:
The plan is for it to have several districts, a wall, and an underground network of water, redstone, minecarts, and a road system that connects the city together.
The Control Center is a special building, at or near the center of the city. It's the one I've developed least, but is one of the most redstone-intensive buildings.
Doubtlessly, as the project continues, more rooms and functions will be given to the Control Center. Here's what I've got so far:
- The Security Center, which is sort of the center of operations. I envision it as being spherical in shape, with a raised platform in the middle looking over other smaller stations as well as four pieces of colored wool and redstone torches which show the DEFCON (security level) of the city. I'll go into detail about the DEFCON in a moment.
- Probably deep underground, a water system which connects all farms. It all flows to a single room in the Control Center. In this room each farm has a harvest button that will bring the drops to it. There's also a master switch/button that activates them all at once. To accommodate for this, all farms and the mob trap must be able to open to the underground water streams. I'll post pictures to illustrate what I mean.
- A highly guarded, hidden self-destruct room. It has a pair of levers. The first one opens access to the second one. When the second one is hit, there's a delay of 0, 30, or 60 seconds before TNT placed throughout the city is detonated. This is intended as a last resort if hostiles try to take over the city. It's a bit extreme but could be useful if things go absolutely haywire. Because it's so intense and probably unnecessary, if people don't want to include it, it'll be optional.
- The Mayor's Office. Mostly ceremonial, just intended to look good. Maybe a few other offices as well.
- A room that shows the names of all the people who took part in building the city.
The DEFCON system: The city has four security levels, each represented by a colored wool in the Security Center.
- DEFCON 1 - Red wool. Immediate danger. If griefers, an enemy faction, etc., break their way into the city, this is implemented. Everybody is to arm themselves and/or get to defensive stations as assigned them. There are note blocks under the ground that are specifically for this level, and will sound at regular intervals unless Silent Mode is activated, by hitting a level that disables the sirens. All five gates are locked shut, with the manual override engaged. This means nobody can come in or out, potentially leaving miners or hunters locked out of the city. In such a situation, perhaps there should be outposts where they are likely to be that can be of some defense. On a server, /tp can be useful.
- DEFCON 2 - Yellow wool. Alert. If it's possible that griefers, an enemy team, or some weakness in the security exists, this will be implemented. It means everyone should be at heightened alert and at the very least have armor on, and stay near any defensive locations they are assigned. This also has a specific alarm sound that can be silenced.
- DEFCON 3 - Green wool. Normal. With no obvious danger around, everyone can be as armored and armed as desired, and go about their business. No alarms needed.
- DEFCON 4 - Blue wool. Disabled. Defensive systems have been shut off. Best for when important people are visiting. It's recommended to have guards around.
The noteblock sirens are underground and all through the city. They are connected via redstone wire.
City walls, subway, and mines:
Inside the walls are arrow and TNT cannons, used for self-defense. At the top are walkways for archers to defend the city. There is also a minecart system which connects to the city's subway system.
The subway minecart system:
The mines:
These plans are open to change as people suggest improvements that myself and the team think are good.

Expect great things to come!
