I am a relatively experienced game designer, and I was just wondering if anyone on here would be interested if a group I'm with made the true Star Wars Battlefront III. Now, before you peg me as a Star Wars nerd, play Battlefront II. It's a really good game, and I want the series to continue. Please tell me whether or not this would be a good idea.

Not really. I think your group should put their effort towards making something original. Not to mention many fan projects get shut down for copyright infringement.

Well I wouldn't sell the meat of it, as to avoid breaking copyright. Maybe some DLC maps though.

If you made even a cent off any of it you'd be asking to get sued. Even if you planned on releasing it for free, you could still be potentially shut down.

How am I being negative? You're the one insulting me when I'm just telling you how it is. It was one of the first things mentioned when I was filling out the forms for my game design course.
