I usually just play on realms, but my friend told me about servers.
I want a regular survival mode server.
I don't care for PVP, but I guess if I have to..
Do servers mean I can play anytime?

Alright Ayla, I'm the person you're looking for.
I run a small server, which will soon be big. Servers are like big LAN networks, only not LAN. You type in IP's, then you can connect with other online people on those servers. My server has Survival, but I'm adding more gamemodes such as creative plots, skywars, hunger games etc. If you want to join, press 'Add Server' then type in the server address 198.24.153.56:25565
Click the server and press join! On behalf of the server, we hope to see you there!
