Setting up a GoFundMe when you're 1. This early in development and 2. Using an idea that's not remotely unique is just a bad idea; Especially since you only need the money for advertising and textures.

When you get something notable up and running, and when you have a community of people that are dedicated to your game (meaning that you need something that actually works), then you should ask for crowdfunding.

As to you saying that the project would go faster with money:
Don't rush. If it's going to take a while, let it take a while. Money will only get you so far.

Let's just say, they were not...

Okay, so you seem semi-passionate for this project, but that's really where to good part of this game ends. You're still going with a game idea that's been done hundreds of times before you. Next, a game shouldn't be taking help from the community yet. It's good later in the game, when it's actually out, and it's actually good. (Which I can't say this will be.) Anyways, this also includes making literally whatever team you can muster from this community, instead of professionally (Not a good idea.). Past that, no real investments in a website or anything has been made yet, besides some little cheap, if not free, pre-generated templates. You NEED to invest your own money into a website and stuff, not just rely on the community for money. Next, a good game doesn't need advertizements, unless it's a console game, period. Finally, Unity 3D can't be used to make a good game, simple as that. If you want to put this on steam as a GOOD game, and not one that may possibly get popular simply because so many people hate review it, you need to invest your own money. Don't expect to make a good game for free, or only on the communities money.

TL;DR: Do better game, also, stop being lazy and read it, please.

camomano99I'm currently making a game, its going to be a survival game in a world full of animals and other things that will try to run away or kill you. I'm currently looking for people to help out, like make textures and code.

Info: We are using Unity3d because its free, and easy to use.

A few things.

1. This seems more of an idea then anything else. Seriously. No pictures, no nothing.

2. Survival game where there are animals that don't and do attack you. Not only is this VERY vague, but it has little to no creativity in it.

3. You're using Unity. I get it's cheap, but if you want a good game to get on steam and get popular, Unity isn't really the way to go.

4. You expect to get a lot of this from little, as in "make the basics and it'll get on steam and become popular." Well, welcome to the big bad world where that doesn't happen.

first of all you won't get a game on steam just like that -.-

the best you can do is GreenLight, second of all Early access is much worse for publicity than just developing the game to a "release or beta" stage and then trying to greenlight it.

Working in the UDK might seem like a good idea now, but there'll be a ton of royalties to pay later on! If I may suggest an engine I would heartily recommend Unity 3D, since it is Free for basic use and has a licensing agreement which allows you to make a couple of before having to pay 10% of your revenue to them.

Also, and this is most important for your marketing. Have you any past projects to show off, anything to point to that says "I know what I'm doing"? it would make your pitch far more believable and trustworthy for "investors", if you can convince them that you have done something of equal magnitude of what your trying to do now.

Lastly like Camomano99 said, If you haven't gotten any work gone on the actual game you're proposing, you shouldn't be posting about it. wait till you've tinkered with UDK or whatever engine you decide using and once you have something playable, post here and everywhere you can saying; "This is my project, here's a demo / a youtube video and if you would like to see it completed please help out, by either joining my development team or donating a little money for me to get the assets for the game."
