Making a mc 1.6.2 mod

hey, how might one make a mod for 1.6.2? I learned the basic crap, and I wanted to make one, but I can't find mc jar, or resources... so Im quite stuck... plz help :!:

well, just about everything! it would be easier with 1.5.2, but whats the use doing that if mc keeps progressing? Im curious where one might find mc jar and the resources folder

Anyways even if you do find a Minecraft .jar on the interwebz, it's illegal.

.jar files are kept in the "versions" folder in ".minecraft". If you want to test the mod, try copying and pasting the version you are hoping to edit, for example: 1.6.2, then change the name of the folder, .jar, and .json to something like "1.6.2_Mod". Edit the version name in the .json file to the name of the version, then do all the editing through that specific .jar.

You should check out a tutorial for MCP 1.6.2 and Modloader - If you know Java, this should set you all up.
