I have a survival map that I am working on, and need tips on resource distribution.
Normally it goes like this:
Wood is in trees up here.
Stone goes from here all the way down.
Some iron is mixed in with the stone, along with a little gold.
Diamonds are way down here.
But my map is a different shape. I don't really want to give it away, but I've seen survival maps in which the resources are spread among glass spheres or floating islands.
How do you spread resources without making the map too easy/hard?

No, although that is a good example of a map of a weird shape where the resources are placed in such a way where they aren't too easy or difficult to get to. You start off with wood nearby, you use it with some other stuff to get a cobblestone grinder, and from there you expand to find other resources.

I think you have to find a good mod for that - or you can ask a modder to create a mod which generates worlds like that

I'm building the map and placing the resources on my own, I'm just trying to figure out how to distribute the ores and stuff so that they aren't too easy or hard to get.
