Mine-imator - Animate your own Minecraft Videos!
Whats up everyone, Skiedude here!
And I wanted to share something very cool that a lot of people don't know about.
Mine-imator! This is an animating program built around the Minecraft World. The creator David Norgren is still in Beta Stages and the download is free.

Also if you want to see the program in action check out my Tutorial series or my Animated Shorts that I have done.

Can you tell me which codec to use for long animations? Normally I use Microsoft Video 1, but if it's over 1 min or 45 seconds or something like that it says "window Media player encountered a problem while playing the file". Is it a codec or mine-imator problem? Please help!

Sorry for not replying for ages! Planet Minecraft wouldn't login! But the videos have gone on!

How do you add music
1
You'll need video editing software for that.
(After effects, Sony vegas pro, etc)

Can't wait until you add sounds so I can make a Minecraft Kombat vid!
1
- I'm not sure if David (the creator) has that planned or not, but I would suggest just using a simply video editing program, even windows movie maker! anything will work really.
- Awesome would love to see them.

Here's my initial work so far, and I'd like to make a 10min per episode animation out of this app.

NyarlyI tried it out today and have to say that it's quite good. A bit rough around the edges, but that's to be expected from a beta. I still hope that the Undo/Redo buttons will be fixed soon. Fortunately, it's not too much trouble to correct mistakes manually.
It's also rather easy to use. I had a bit of trouble since I didn't know how to manipulate entities (well, what I actually didn't know was that you have to create a keyframe first), but other than that, it went smoothly.
As a small test, I made a short clip, [/shameless self-promotion]involving a skin that was made by me and that you all should download[/shameless self-promotion]:
Yeah it does take some getting used to, but its easier to pick up than most related 3D programs which is nice. And yeah the undo/redo buttons should be fixed in the next beta version (don't hold me to it, but I thought David mentioned this to me)

I tried it out and I love it! I've also been watching your tutorials for stuff I may have not already know. Now all I have to do is wait for David to fix the graphics card issue before I can release my animation (it's an eye test, like the ones professionals use. Mabye I can show you some pics if you're interested). Anyway, I hope to talk to you in the future.
1
yeah the graphics issue is quite an annoying bug, And feel free to post pics here!

people have made it Mac Usable, just surf the comments of Davids website and you can find links
1
Thanks this is just what i've been looking for now I can make an intro of my own : P
1
What video codec do you use for it when compressing? Windows 1 dosen't work and a few others don't work for me, which ones do you use?
1
I use Windows 1 if you watch my Render Tutorial Video. However the Mine-imator is running into issues with certain Graphics cards, David is currently trying to find a fix.
However watch the Render Tutorial, that solves most peoples problems
