Planet Minecraft

Hey Minecraftians, now I own a PS3 and I respect Xbox owners, but I really wish Mojang would make a deal with sony to have Minecraft buyable on the playstation store. Xbox has it because more people play that console, but PS3 should be next in line for an offer. Who out there agrees with me?

Its probably a good marketing idea for mojang....All I want is cross platform multiplayer....

I think Notch/Mojang is just taking it one step at a time. There's still many bugs to be debriefed in the Xbox360 version, and they haven't even launched the adventure update for the 360 version. If he/they ever DO launch it on PS3, or any other kind of Play Station, it won't be for A WHIIILE. Like... long long time.

And I don't have anything Play Station, so don't bitch at me for something I'm not aware of. I'll fix it. :v

I'll point out that Mojang have nothing to do with the 360 version. Nothing at all. Some xbox company bought the rights to make it from them, so they make it. Mojang get some of the profits, and don't do any work on it. If the PS3 is to have a version (which I would like) someone would have to do the same and develop it for PS3 on their own.

yeah i just got my PS3 and i would prefer it on that to xbox as i can move around the PS3's controller faster than my xbox's

Mojang get some of the profits, and don't do any work on it. If the PS3 is to have a version (which I would like) someone would have to do the same and develop it for PS3 on their own.

I'm pretty sure if the rights to make a Minecraft copy were bought by another company, it wouldn't be as good as it would if Mojang/Notch made it themselves for the consoles. I know there are bugs to be fixed but, there will always be bugs in games.

Microsoft like to ruin games for all non-xboxers. DLC exclusivity deals, earlier release dates for games, always mentioning microsoft on multi-platform game adverts, extra xbox only features. They really irritate me. It wouldn't surprise me if they tried to stop it being released on Playstation.

Amen to that. Microsoft sometimes takes already made games, gets a contract, and when the game is released, likes to create DLCs and add-ons to the game. Which sometimes is a good thing, but 99.9% of the time, you have to pay for them. Pretty much Microsoft making somewhat of a profit off of someone elses game. But then again, that person signed the contract to Microsoft for their game to be put up like that. So Microsoft isn't ALL that bad..

Dude; they didn't make the 360 version. Notch already said that nobody at Mojang is a console developer (VERY different to PC) so they're not going to make console games. The only reason they made one for Android is because Android dev is 90% Java anyway.
It may not be "as good" as if they made it, but they're not going to make any console games unless they hire so new people specifically to do that (which Notch has already said he doesn't want to do).

Just to clear this up about rights it was 4J studios that bought the rights for the 360 Port.

(isn't xbox made by Microsoft, which was made by Bill Gates, which is the richest man in the world and will be forever be able to fund it unlike the ps3?)
