Minecraft LAN- Is it possible?

Hey i would just like to know if it is possible to play Minecraft over a LAN connection.
I would really like to do a survival series with my little brother and we are barely ever able to use the internet. Please help. Thank you in advance :)

just run a normal server and connect with the ipv4 address

yeah. but couldn't you run a server without an IP from 1 computer and then use "LocalHost" connection? or is that only Per computer... or maybe if you plugged one Ethernet cable into the computers to create a Computer to Computer network then LocalHost might work... Networking isn't something I know the most about...

just start a server and run it off localhost on your pc and tell your brother to play with your router ip or something
