I'm predicting that governments are just going to keep trying to pass internet censorship bills until one actually passes.

In Canada they're trying to pass a bill that allows police to gain access to personal information from your ISP without a warrant. Obviously if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear, but I think something like that would give more leverage to SOPA/PIPA/ACTA clones.

Doesn't matter where you're from. The free internet, as we know it, probably has it's days numbered. Having control over the internet is in many government's best interests.

Technically it's illegal to begin with, but these laws will make it easier for corporations to sue or shut down fan projects. For example, you won't be able to do such things as use a copyrighted song in your YouTube video, remix a song and put it up for free download, or remake an old video game.

I believe in respecting copyrights, but harmless things I mentioned above should be left alone. They're not hurting a company's profits, if anything, they're like free advertising.
