Minecraft server IP problem

so i have made a public server yesterday and i did everything that was told to me at the bukkit site even port forwarding i have it on this IP: 192.168. 1. 35:25565
butplanet minecraft says it is not a public IP and that only people from in my home can get on and that i have to use the public IP
but i have a friend in anopther country that can join on not the public IP
but when i host it on my public ip it wont work and when i fill in my public ip in my minecraft i cant connect to the server HELP PLZ!?!?!?! :?: :!: :|

go to http://ipchicken.com/ and type the ip you see there, also because your running on port 25565 you do not need to include the :25565 in your ip
