MY MINECRAFT WONT WORK, it says updating minecraft and has been like that for hours, PLEASE HELP ME!

For PC-
Go to start and search for "run"
Run the "run" application
type in %appdata%
go to .Minecraft
Delete everything (back up your texture packs)
Run minecraft

For Mac-
Go to finder
Open Library
Proceed into application support
Go into minecraft
Delete everything (once again back up texture packs)
Run Minecraft

I suggest, delete your .minecraft folder ( to find it type in the search bar- %appdata% - ) then re-download it and try from there. ( it will delete the servers and singleplayer games you have put up there, so make a note of any server IP's you have ) good luck ;)
