Jacob RigobertoFirstly, just want to say I have heard many rumors of 1.8 having an update of changing your name.
The question I want answered is how do I do it?

It will come out soon, but I heard somewhere that they said that " We do not know how to prevent people change names with out changing it each minute, it will just be stupid " and the only way I think they will solve that is by probably paying money for it, like I would only pay about 50c for that. I might not be telling the truth, I just heard this somewhere.

I think Mojang said something about one free namechange,but you might have to pay to change it multiple times. IDK I bad remember things

Last time I heard from Mojang, their plan was unlimited, free name changes, but you could only change it a limited number of times within a certain amount of time.

Not with 1.8, but "sometime after" 1.8.

I can estimate that it's going to take 6 months to get the feature out at least.

Mojang will post on mojang.com when the name chancing will be available. Since 1.8 is out it can be any time now. And the namechancing will be a thing!

1.7 changed all forms of storing player data to be based on UUIDs (Unique IDs) and not names. This means that 1.7 is ready for name changes. This doesn't mean that Mojang has to allow name changes; they do that whenever it suits them. It is more than possible, however.

This is correct. Previously, Minecraft stored player information with the username, but as of Minecraft 1.7, it's all done with UUID's. So Minecraft is now capable of name changes, but has not been released to the public.

Like... I believe they're like Steam ID's where you can change your name anytime but has a secret ID Number..

No, because Mojang's UUID database would not allow for changes yet. (Unless you were to re-code their UUID databse...)

Maybe, but to not get arrested you should wait to the official release of the name change feature.
