I would like a gaming PC for around $500, but if I can get just alot more performance, I can stretch too ruffly $700, but would like to stay around $500 - $600.

Please make it too the best as possible!

I will be buying it within the week.

What is this computer going to be used for?
Gaming, possibly recording.
What is your budget?
$500 - $700 if I absolute must, please make it stay around $500, also ASD
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
Australia.
What is included in the budget?
Everything apart from the Keyboard, mouse and screen, oh and headset.
Will you be overclocking?
No.
Will you be reusing any parts?
No.
What OS do you want?
Windows 8.
Any specific case preferences?
Color must be black, and have good air flow because I live in a VERY hot area, and it can be as big as it must.
Any other special features that you want in the build?
I do not need wifi, but I would like a 500 GB SSD or HDD, I do have a 1TB hard drive, but wouldn't like using it as I am going to either sell it or use it in a better gaming rig when I get one.

Thanks!

As a result of all the arguing going on in this thread and considering the OP has got what they wanted I am gonna lock this.
Thank you to those who were helping out with the part choices.

Whoever recommended AMD, go sit in the corner.

I'd NEVER recommend AMD to anyone, the value for money compared to intel is terrible. Yes, Intel costs more, but say the intel version of the same processor is double the price, it'll probably run 3 times faster.

(ATI Radeon graphics on the other hand are absolutely fine)

well that's the best pc you've shown so far, but way out of his budget, im not trying to show the best pc on the market, just one that suits his needs in his price range but i don't price things in aussie so that's out of my jurisdiction, but anyways i think we flooded the forum with enough nonsence that he should be able to make a decision on a pc either way and i got a friend with a gt640 and his pc runs ac4 just fine in hd but that's not the point.

anyways GamingDistrict i hope between us i hope we gave you enough info to get what you need for a decient price goodluck and happy gaming.

well I am talking usd not aussie dollars so that is not taken into account and based on that yours is alot cheaper but honestly i didn't look at the graphics card on the top listed one which i woudnt have posted had i seen the graphics on it cuz like you say it woudnt run games with the 250mb graphics memory which is just stupid horrible but the graphics card in the bottom link is much much better and i5 is stil better than the amd far as processors go. and with a 640 card it would run any game available today pretty much even games like assassins creed 4 in 3d with no problems.

i7 blows the Pentium out of the water graphics are better on the one you have listed than the top on the list I put but the one I have listed on the bottom has double the graphics of the one you have,

and the one I listed on he botton has i5 instead of i7 which is slower but still tons better than the Pentium which I woudnt even consider buying a pc with a Pentium since I could drive around the world in a bus and find what im looking for faster than a Pentium can compute it

so heres the list

better worse tie
my i5 your Pentium
my 8g ram your 4g ram
1tb hard drive
my NVidia gt640 4GB graphics your Radeon R9 270 2GB
case
power supply
my wireless your no wireless
win 8 64bit

my drive your no drive listed

my 699.00 dollars your 722.00 dollars

so im sorry but um... I don't see how yours is better in any way at all much less every way.

You don't seem to understand. Prices are higher in Australia along with our currency being worth more. If he wanted a PC with those specs in Australia, he'd be paying 300 more.

Do you know anything about video cards? The GT 640 has no place in a 700 dollar build. The R9 270 is loads better. Case is better in Randomness's, PSU is better in Randomness's. Randomness's can actually run games. The money is taken out of the CPU and RAM to go towards the video card, which he will use more of.

Yours is a PC with all the processing power in the world but still unable to play games, which is what he wants to do, and will cost him about $1200 in AUS.

Now stop this arguing.

lol at the Pentium vs i7 the i7 obliterates the Pentium

yours has 4g ram vs my 8g ram listed

graphics card much better on the the one you listed than the top one but bottom one I listed has double the graphics tha you showed

both 1tb hds

and the one I listed is 713.00 dollars vs your 722.00

so you got that backwards the one I listed is better in almost every way

and the one I have listed on the bottom is legit better in every way shape and form and even cheaper than the one on top only 699.00 but has a i5 instead of i7 which still smokes the Pentium. so nice try but no just no the one you have listed is NOT better

He does not need an i7. 8GB of RAM is better, but the games he will be playing with this PC do not warrant it. The "graphics" computer is still terrible.

This is also in AUSTRALIAN dollars with AUSTRALIAN prices.

These are all great options if you're looking to throw your money in a pit to see how far it falls.

My advice: Go with Randomness' build. You'll get the most for your money and not have a crazy unbalance like the prebuilts that were suggested above.

That PSU and optical drive don't have a price and adding them will drive the price way over budget. This is another option.

Hate to be that guy, but you don't stand a chance in hell of getting that rig for $500.

A 500gb SSD would cost at least half that, and a graphics card even more. So you could afford those two parts, then still need to get case, motherboard, CPU, RAM and software...

What is this computer going to be used for?
List what you will be doing with your computer.
What is your budget?
Include amount and currency.
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
Your country lets us know what sites you can order from. If you have a nearby Microcenter they have some great in-store only deals that you can take advantage of.
What is included in the budget?
Things like the tower, the OS, peripherals and monitors.
Will you be overclocking?
Overclocking will require different hardware than a non-overclocking build so we need to know this.
Will you be reusing any parts?
If you are reusing parts list them here.
What OS do you want?
Say which OS you want or say if you already have a copy of one.
Any specific case preferences?
Size, color, etc.
Any other special features that you want in the build?
Stuff like an SSD, large hard drive, RAID, and wifi
