The one on another forum that ports mcMMO died at 1.6.4, so I'm wanting something at least SOMETHING similar to mcMMO for my singleplayer experience.

MCMMO is still active and I know many servers that still use it with 1.7.10. It is active and being updated. I don't know what forum post you were reading, but it was wrong. I run my own server and I use MCMMO.
