Need help!
Hello, I am making a 3D Horror Game and I need some ideas. In this horror game, I do not want anything that has to do with you finding stuff or getting out somewhere. (Ex. I don't want a game like Slender or Amnesia.) A perfect example would be something like Five Night's at Freddy's. No I do not want to have a ripoff of the game or I do not want something very similar to it.
I am using "Unity Source Engine" and I will be publishing this game on Steam for $5.00 USD when it's done.
I will give credit if I use someone's idea.
Thanks.

Put a storyline in it. Don`t make the antagonists of the game ridiculous, put some effort into them. And as they said, add sound effects etc.

Important thing for horror: An object or person that makes you feel safe.
Like a gun, a flashlight, a friend, its what makes alien isolation less terrifying as it is in the beginning, learn from mega uber popular games.

you are a kid named alex and you need to find your dad. You saw him go outside and into his garden shed to get something. then you saw a bright light and he dissapeared.
you decide to. investigate and when you go in you see a ghost and faint. you wake up in a empty prison/factory and need to find you way out... but there is something chasing you, you have to hide from it or else it will kill you but at the same time escape the prison/factory.
make the dad have something special about him example:( like a special bracelet of ghosts or something)

You are an MLG quick scooper
Then one day you check the leaderboards and notice that you are in 3rd place
You later on find out that a skeleton has the highest quick scoping percent
You must slowly locate this skeleton and quick scope it before he rekts the leaderboards forever

Giant mutant rats in a sewer. Or on the moon, there really is cheese, so you go to the moon to kill the rat emperor.
As you can tell, this is 24.6908% serious and 62.XD% not.

I have an idea, but it might be a bit hard to make:
Basically, you're in a city. Not deserted or anything, completely normal in the middle of the day and full of people. You walk around in the city when you notice something lurking behind you. You can't see it, but if you face it you hear sounds. Nobody else notices it. Your goal is to head home before it gets you.
I think it would be an unique idea, seeing as you'll never be able to see the monster, it's in broad daylight and filled with people and that no one else can see it.

To have a good horror game, just remember these steps:
1) Pop scares are not fun.
2) Sound effects are key. It is scarier to hear glass shatter in the darkness then to see a zombie charge at you.
3) pick a good atmosphere, but make sure it is not overused. Personally, I think deep space is a great setting. Just dont make it too cliche, like constantly saying horrible mottos like "No one can hear you scream in space"
4) Be original with the enemy. Dont make it slenderman or some overused creepy thing.
Good luck!

Hmm.. maybe.
You start off in the outskirts off a forest and go for a jogg in the evening autumn. The sun is still up. As you go jogging the sun starts to go down a bit and maybe rain comes down. Then as you turn around you see your path is gone and theres something in the woods making noises. Maybe thats a good starting idea? I don't know I just thought of it hah.

It's a good thought, just seems too cliche

1) Whatever you do, please do not use cheap jump scares.
2) SOUND IS EVERYTHING. Bad sound = bad game. Sound is 90% of a horror game.
3) Think about whether you want to make an original idea (Like Amnesia) or use some existing creepy pasta (like Slenderman). If you do choose the second one, make sure it's not completely obscure but still not overused in games.
