These are ones that I use, and they are perfect except for the fact that it does hurt your ears after a few hours(maybe it hurts cuz of my glasses lol)

Corsair Raptor HS40 or HS30. I've only every had the HS30's and they are extremely comfortable even after playing for hours, microphone quality could be better but for $40 what do you expect.

I got my sades something-or-others for $15 on amazon. The microphone is kind of weird, but the sound quality is awesome.

I personally use a samson SR850 for headphones. They're pretty good, and if you're looking for a mic, then look at the Zalman zm-mic1, it's got the quality of a much more expensive mic and it's only around $5-$10

Anyone got some more Ideas

Was there a winning suggestion yet?

I've heard that HpyerX Clouds are pretty good for about 10$ more than what you said.

Plantronics GameCom 308. I bought a pair looking for a cheap headset a few years ago and I was so happy with their quality and durability, I bought the same model 3 years later when the first pair finally wore out.

i had a pair about 2 years ago and it broke within a few months >.>

ASUS Cerberus Gaming Headset.
Nice colours, nice sound quality, detachable boom mic (crisp voice once you get it working properly). It's on sale for about £30~ at the moment, which is about $40~. Reviews are all pretty good too.
I have one and I initially had an issue on my end with the boom-mic not being detected once I had attached it. However, once i fixed it, people I talked to said it was like I had a new mic

Welp, I should have checked on the US Amazon, forget what I said about the price. However, it's still a really decent headset and it does seem to be in stock :3

Superlux HD668B and a Zalman ZM-1?
Never used the ZM-1 but the Superlux's have great reviews for a $38 pair of headphones.
BTW gaming headsets are usually just marketing.

I have a pair of those headphones, good at first but maybe a week after getting them the bass raddles (no I haven't adjusted any levels that made this happen) and a few months after there's a short in the wire. I don't handle these roughly either, so personally I'd say get something else that would last longer. I've done a little bit of research and it really seems these headphones are extremely inconsistent, but for the price they could be worth it if you're willing to take the sort of "gamble" that you may get a bad pair like mine. But if you're like me, and you absolutely hate getting products that work great but break down quickly, I would not recommend these. I also do agree though that gaming headsets are mostly marketing, nothing special but some surround sound built in to the drivers which most 3.5mm headphones alongside a fairly modern soundcard will have the same, gaming headsets just annoyingly enunciate the effect.
Side note, the top head pads have actually been making me bald in the shape of them. They're incredibly uncomfortable unless you tape them past the bar and get some foam padding and place them where the two pads would be. The shallow ear cups also make my ears hurt after a few hours of wearing them, which is slightly annoying but not bad. I'm switching to either some Audio Technica M50x's (for the quality) or Sennheiser HD 598's (for the extreme comfort) once I get my computer completely assembled. But of course, those two options are way out of your price range.

I would recommend getting Mad Cat's Tritton headset. I have been using them for a while and had no problem with them.
It might cost you an extra $9.99 (+ possible shipping costs) but the Kunai ones could be good for you.
