What parts do I need for this computer?
What is this computer going to be used for?
I am going to be gaming and recording at the same time, also I will be video editing for YouTube. I will also be live-streaming, doing school work and usual computer things.
What is your budget?
My budget is about $1000.
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
I live in Massachusetts and I'm not sure what a "Microcenter" is.
What is included in the budget?
I need 1 monitors(Have too monitors), Keyboard, and Mouse.
Will you be overclocking?
I am new to the "PC gaming" aera and I am not too sure if Overclocking is something I need to do.
Will you be reusing any parts?
No I will not.
What OS do you want?
I choose windows 8.1 ( Preferably 64-bit )
Any specific case preferences?
Any-size, preferably a cool gaming case
Any other special features that you want in the build?
I would like a big hard-drive for my recordings, an SSD would be nice if possible. I would like to use Wifi as my router is down stairs and far-away. I would like a graphics card that has 4 to 5 HDMI/VGA Outputs,
Thank you, and I hope someone can come up with a build suitable for me. I am looking for something simple to build so no water cooling ( Which I don't think this build could ever have ). But I would like 16GB of ram for some things I need to use the computer for, thanks kjl13

The GTX 970 problems are largely overexaggerated. Not only is the performance drop insignificant (a few frames), but it doesn't crop up often (mostly when playing demanding games at 4K).

As much as I think 16 GB of RAM is becoming the norm for gaming systems, for what you're doing, the money could be better spent elsewhere. 8 GB is plenty for the time being and going this route frees up funds for, say, a great GPU.
The GTX 970 I selected is the top-of-the-line EVGA 970. It has a DVI port (which can be adapted to VGA), an HDMI port, and 3 DisplayPort ports. The great thing about DisplayPort is that for a few bucks, you can get an adapter to hook up any sort of monitor you want. The card will work fine with your two monitors now (one on HDMI and one on DVI/VGA), and you can easily add more later.

Why WD when Barracuda is cheaper?
Why the 970 when you can get AMD pretty soon (which are supposed to perform better) and with all the 970 problems?
Why that case? It's pretty cheap and, IMO, not worth to put in a build of this budget.

There is no GPU because with the Radeon R9 3XX series coming out soon, I would recommend waiting for them and seeing how they'll perform compared to their NVIDIA counterparts.

The only Microcenter in Mass is in Cambridge, which can be quite a hike depending on where you live.
Thanks!

Yeah seriously get HDMI
1
Why would you want VGA?
1
i can build and ship a new computer to you. add 'garretsidzaka' on skype
1
By getting someone to pick out your PC parts for you, you take out half of the fun of building a computer...
1
Check Micro Center's store locator to see if there's one near you.
1
Ok thanks
1
...so do you live near one?
1
yes I do
Well I really just want someone to name all the parts I need for a awesome gaming computer, then I can put it together

Is 2 VGA and 1 HDMI okay?
1
if you can get 3 VGA but 2 VGA and 1 HDMI is ok too
1
This looks like a fun project :p
1
Ok I guess only 3 then
1
uhh...5 VGA outputs? Good luck...Also thats utterly pointless
1
Exactly what I'm thinking.
1
And why do you need five anyway? You only will have 3 monitors?
1
Uh... I'm sure there is one, but I've never heard of a graphics card with 5 VGA outputs...
