Today my partner and I have concluded that we are going to create a very innovative, active, and unique Minecraft server. But before we get into that, I’d like to explain both of our pasts with server development, management, etc.
To begin, both Stephen and I (Michael) have taken part in developing and creating World of Warcraft Private Servers. We’ve done it all from being GM’s on servers, to running and managing our own servers. The reason we began creating servers was mainly because none of the servers appealed to us, or any of the other private server gamers in the community. Basically, we decided to create a server to surround players like us, with a very fun and enigmatical experience.
During the past month, Stephen and I have brainstormed and conceptualized many aspects of World of Warcraft, and developed it into a Minecraft private server. We’ve created one idea individually, which we think will appeal to our soon to be player base the most.
This idea is, Minecraft Arena. The Minecraft Arena will allow all players to take part in World of Warcraft PvP, but in Minecraft.
I will explain the concept.
Members of the Mine Craft server will be able to compete WITH and AGAINST each other for rewards, titles, etc. Players will begin by creating a team with their ally, which can hold a maximum of 3 players on a team at once. The Arena’s are strictly 2v2 for right now, 3v3 coming later in the future. Once on a team, the players will then be able to queue up for arena. There will be many unique custom maps such as a colosseum, etc. Once in the arena, the players will have 2 minutes in a waiting chamber to create a strategic approach to defeat the enemy. Also while in the waiting chamber, you will be able to select your class/kit.
Winning arenas will bring up the teams rating, which will put them on the leader boards in the spawn for everybody to see. The top players will receive special titles, rewards, etc.
The top players will be obviously displayed at the end of the season, which is the team who has the highest rating and places first.
There will be multiple seasons, for example, Season 1, 2, 3, and so on. Each season will last around a month, and the top players at the end of the month will receive their rewards/titles.
We’ve decided that the top players at the end of the season will receive the title called “Gladiator (Season Number here)”
For example, each season counts off from one, which will determine what is the roman numeral next to the title gladiator which is obviously the season you earned the title, which will look something like this.
Gladiator I, Gladiator II, Gladiator III, Gladiator IV, and so on.
We haven’t decided how the players will be rewarded for their success in the arena (besides the titles), but it will be worth the pain and effort the players need to endure to battle their ways to Rank #1.
So now that you’ve read our philosophical viewpoint on the project, we’d like to get down to business with PMC members like you.
We are looking to recruit Staff Members for the server, who are basically willing to help us start from scratch, and when the server is complete, become a GM or Mod or so on.
