Well, hey there guys! I know alot of people have trouble with PermissionsEx, well so do I. After studying a Wiki page, I thought it was a bit frustrating to read all of it. So im going to go through with you how to make Permissions/Ranks In game. This is how:

To make a group type /pex group create (name of group)
Alright, you got your first group! Now how to configure it!

To allow the group name to be shown make a prefix, this will incude colors!

Type: /pex group Member prefix "&0(&8Member&0)&7"

This is just an example of what the member rank would look like if made into a prefix.

To organize your ranks from worst to best do this:

•/pex group default set rank 1000
•/pex group Member set rank 900
•/pex group VIP set rank 800
•/pex group Moderator set rank 100
•/pex group Admins set rank 0

Once again, this is just an example.

To add permissions to your ranks simply do this
/pex group Member add modifyworld.*

This will allow Members to modify the world.

To add /spawn for example with Essentials you would type

/pex group Member add Essentials.Spawn

To remove permissions type /pex group default remove modifyworld.*

To allow somebody to be in a group, the easiest way to do this is:
/pex user (name of player) group set Member

If you would like me to add anything else, please just ask!

Thanks for showing people this, though you should not spam the forum with such.

If people need to learn how to use it, they normally use the main thread ;)

Anyways, thanks for trying to help!

The main reason I posted this because of the main thread was long, confusing, and hard to read for some begginers. Thought I would help out those beggingerss with less stress :)!

You should add a link to the plugins page.

managing permissions with ingame/console commands is a bad idea cuz its inaccurate and if u have made an error u cant fixx it with the commands

and its realy not hard to use an yaml parses to find errors in the data -.-

Well, not exactly, you can fix minor mistakes, I recommend in-game because it seems easier, and also when working with the Permissions.yml you are easily going to corrupt a file and end up with an Internal Server Error, these can be very annoying, once you do this you must look all back through your permissions.yml and check everything. If you dont see anything wrong you must start over, and try to fix the problem.

Also, this tutorial is for begginers not people that are ready for Permissions.yml, that is more advanced then In-Game, later on I will help with Permissions.yml out of game.
