AMD, because I bitcoin.

AMD 2 / Nvida 11 ?!
Whats wrong with you people. Haha.

IDK. AMD has better performance usually, but people just go there and vote for NVIDIA. Personal preference I guess.

I have no idea.

I personally favor Nvidia more than AMD mainly because they have better performance and features. AMD is alright but they have bad driver support in my opinion. Nvidia may be a little more expensive but offer more.

nvidia gives more performance and are cheaper even more so with the 980/970 heck now you can have a sli with 2 970's and get pyscho performance for $650-$700
BUT the r9 295x2 does outperform nvidias TITAN BLACK but still nvidia wins for me because they have higher over-all core clock speeds by default and can be boosted even higher

Killertoadi just saw it on some website...Al CatSplatWait, doesn't Nvidia only support 3D. I thought radeon graphics couldn't display 3D content
What are you even talking about...
then i checked the amd website and was like "ohhhhhhhhhhh..., it DOES support 3D i was so wrong lol"

Hmm, no idea. I have a NVIDIA, and I like it a lot. That's it :p

Generally, I lean toward NVIDIA as driver updates occur frequently. AMD's support and driver release schedule seems to be once a year.
NVIDIA's support staff are competent, which is a plus over AMD's.
(RMA for a damaged Raedon... two to three weeks...)

I have an AMD r9 270x and are really happy with it, but I REALLY don't like amd customer support or the catalyst control center.
On the other hand, Nvidia's equivalent of catalyst control center (Forgot what it is called) is really good and haven't yet had a bad experience with their customer support.
Personally I like amd's cards better as you get a bit more bang for your buck and with the newer cards you also can use mantle to get more fps (in some circumstances) in games like theif.
If you're not too good with troubleshooting or sorting things out when the shiz hits the fan definitely go with nvidia.

I personally like NVIDIA more than AMD because they are better in performance. But AMD is almost as good and a lot cheaper. I have a AMD Graphics Card. Nothing NVIDIA.
I'm fine with both. If I had the money, I'd be for NVIDIA but I'm stuck with AMD atm. xD

Unless you're talking about, like movie 3d, which then you're still wrong. nVidia is better at 3d than AMD right now, but that's because it's not a big market, and I don't see it being one any time soon, as it is kinda a pain to game in 3d.

I have both (AMD double graphics) and I like them.

Hehehehe, every bodies talking about Nvidia and AMD while am just sat here with Intel...
I'm still wondering which one I should replace it with (it's not very good) so I will be interested in the result of this thread

I kinda prefer Nvidia JUST because my games are optimized, but I don't like to be a fanboy.

Core-for-core, NVIDIA outpaces AMD by a significant margin.
If you notice, the GTX 780 has 2304 cores, while the competing AMD card (R9 290X) uses 2816. The 290X needs an additional 512 cores to provide the same performance as the 780, which leads to more power draw and more heat output.
AMD cards are typically cheaper, though.

I don't know about that. As you can see in this benchmark, the 290x is better than the 780 by quite a bit. The race is much closer in this benchmark, where the 290x is more or less evenly matched with the 780 ti.
So, going off of this...
The 780 ti has more cores than the r9 290x (Source 1, Source 2).
However, the point others have made still stands. It's not worth going solely with one of the two unless you seriously need to use CUDA, and even then AMD has OpenCL, which allows you to do the same things as CUDA. Always go with whoever has the best price/performance ratio, which right now is nVidia with the 970 and 980. However, we'll see soon enough if team Red will be able to win all the consumers back with their 300 series GPUs.

Although they're both pretty much the same thing, I think the AMD reference cards look cooler than the Nvidia reference cards. That's why if I had to choose, I would say AMD. But I voted that they're the same thing.

Neither is better. Both have almost the exact same features, while some are better on one side, the other side has something even better.
What ever is the best bang for your buck, is what you should invest into. Right now, the 970/980's are the best GPU's you can buy on the market, while also having the best price/performance ratio.
There really is no reason to be a fanboy for either side, as they both are almost identical. AMD does not run hotter (at least not with aftermarket coolers, but reference is a different story) AMD does also not have worse drivers. If anything, AMD's drivers are better than nVidia's right now.

Generally, if you're creating a poll, you keep your opinion neutral and unbiased. Either way, add a "both are good" option. One isn't better than the other.
1
good idea i will add that

Somethin' tells me this thread will eventually get locked due to flame wars...
But... I do prefer NVIDIA, but only because most of the games I play are optimized for it.
If the games I played were optimized more for AMD cards, then I would probably have an AMD card.

Whichever offers the best performance and features for cheaper. Don't be a fanboy.

I personally "fanboy" nvidia, but it doesn't change me from using anything AMD.
Amd's R9s were cheaper and better, but the 970/80 is so beast.
