Not wanting to start a flamewar, but I've seen blogs with the only title and description being "if you're a brony, give a diamond!" on the popular reel, so I can sort of understand what AvatarAcid says.

However, as ZaphodX said, some blogs with great content have been produced, but I would support measures to decrease the number of low quality, non minecraft related blogs.

Okay so if the blogs should be in the blogs area why shouldn't the texturepacks be in the texturepacks area and the mods be in the mods area? If that is the case then there would be no reel at all!

@Ragnur Le Barbare - Thanks for your level headed comments!

@Esti - Simply cos I am 95% gamer. When I'm here, I'm spending 95% of my time in Projects section or hitting F5 on the front page to keep up on the lastest submissions for Projects, Texture Packs, and Skins in their corresponding list trackers. I want more game related stuff in the reel on the front page really, that is it.

Imagine an 11 year old boy (average Minecraft player xD) visiting the page for the first time. What will he look at?
The popular reel of course => The popular reel boosts the popularity of popular projects
No Mods on the popular reel => Blogs don't get recognition by new people

Also,
AvatarAcid wrote: And if that is the case, how did you find the forum?
am I the average 11 year old boy I mentioned earlier? I've been on this site for over half a year xD Also, there is a news feed on latest forum threads on the right side of the page. Again, a popularity booster for the forums.
My point is that Blogs deserve the same amount of recognition projects, mods, skins or texture packs do.

The blogs section is Minecraft related otherwise why would PMC have it on their site? Anyway, most people learn many things from blogs people have posted.

@PeterKramer - really, the average age of a MineCraft player is 11? Guess I'm old school, and maybe that is why I just want in-game usable stuff on the front page.

@Esti - I did mean; more in-game related stuff in the reel on the front page. My bad.

@AvatarAcid I was just picturing the stereotype there ;) Anyway, let's not start a flamewar here, everybody has his own opinion on how things should be

Well Considering Blogs are Tutorials, Comics, Videos blogs.... well to share or express yourself / Ideas. There is no reason to take them Down. Blogs are a great addition to PMC.
Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling!".

@PeterKramer - no doubt, I just thought I'd add my opinion here. I didn't think my post would get any action at all, much surprize this happened lol.

Anyway guys and girls, I'm not hating on Blogs, not at all. I see that from the majority of the active users here that you are all bloggers and active on the forum. Activity on the site can only be a good thing for the site, so no offence to you :) When I post my first blog, you can then make me eat it too lol.

Let me break this down for those of you that seem to have trouble understanding.

Mods:
Downloadable content that contributes to the player's enjoyment of minecraft.
Texture Packs:
Downloadable content that contributes to the player's enjoyment of minecraft.
Projects:
Downloadable content that contributes to the player's enjoyment of minecraft.
Skins:
Downloadable content that contributes to the player's enjoyment of minecraft.

Blogs:
Some opinions, stories, rants, services/shops, and advertisements for other submissions.

♪ ♫ ♪ ...One of these things is not like the others... ♪ ♫ ♪ ...One of these things does not belong...

The only reason people even use the blog section at all is to attempt to boost their EXP ratings. The EXP rating is supposed to be a measurement of how much a member has contributed to the community - that is, things they have created which allow others to enjoy their minecraft experience further. Thus, blogs, which do not contribute to other member's ability to play or enjoy minecraft, have rendered the symbol of the level system meaningless by their very existence. Show me any blog, and I will show you the forum section it belongs in.

The entire section should be removed, turned into a 'youtube series' only section, or at the very least, not offer the same EXP rewards that other types of submissions do.

Let's sum this up.
Many people, including several mods, have the opposite view to you. There is absolutely no reason to remove the blogs from the frontpage. If you personally dislike the blogs then ignore them.

That sounded more like bragging then saying a point :L
