My blogs have been on the popular reel many of times. I honestly don't see why PMC should remove them. If they remove blogs, why not remove mods? Or texturepacks?

@PeterKramer - so people visiting the site wouldn't read the category menu bar??? Its pretty available and obvious. And if that is the case, how did you find the forum? There is no highlight reel for that and you are here.

As you can see its pretty obvious at the top of the page:

Home - Projects - Texture Packs - Skins - Servers - Blogs - Mods - Blocks - Members - Forums - Contests

You would be surprised on how dependant some people are, and how they are incapable of doing things on their own, using common sense, or paying attention to things. I agree with PeterKramer.

Well Considering Blogs are Tutorials, Comics, Videos blogs.... well to share or express yourself / Ideas. There is no reason to take them Down. Blogs are a great addition to PMC.

There is a forum section specifically made for tutorials. That is the logical place to both post and search for tutorials.

My point is that Blogs deserve the same amount of recognition projects, mods, skins or texture packs do.

Why is that? How do blogs contribute to the player's ability to enjoy the game?

FYI some of us produce excellent blogs that deserve recognition.

Primarily because blogs are not downloadables. They are not something that has been created to be used in-game.

Heheh yeah I think a lot of bloggers stalk the forums.

The funny part is that they use the forums constantly, but insist on posting shops, rants, advertisements, tutorials, etc. in blogs, even when they can clearly see that there are forum sections specifically designated for these purposes.

Lots of blogs have minecraft related content, as highlighted by the current blog competition.

Someone hasn't read too many of the submissions.

Time for the next logical follow to this argument: A large number of blogs contain content that would, were it posted on the forums, result in site warnings and bans. When it is posted in a blog, it is placed beyond the reach of the forum mods, and instead must be handled by the much smaller team of site mods.

How do you feel about members making their posts in blogs instead of the appropriate forum sections created for the various types of posts, thereby circumventing the site rules, complicating the relationship between forum warnings and submission warnings, and ultimately creating additional work for site mods?

I agree, Studnicky has quite obviously put a ton of thought behind this.

I had no idea that Blogs were in a way more protected from the rules due to forum mods not having the access to review them. That is a big problem.

Wow, Studnicky changed my mind about this! I also think it is pretty crazy how so often there are more blogs on the reel than anything else.

And AvatarAcid, the reason there are so many blogs that have nothing to do with Minecraft is because of the fact that, as I know from die-hard experience, there are many types of people with many types of opinions, like socialism or broniism, that post their ideas and other stuff on their blogs.

But overall, even though I do write some blogs, I agree with Studnicky and AvatarAcid mostly about the matter, however, removing the blogs section completey or even just taking them off the reel would cause people to rage and start an uproar. And what happens to people that only write blogs? Like the ones who are level 1000000x10^10000 only because of blogs?

The blogs always seem like the place to put your opinion down on (virtual) paper, however, now it seems like, as Studnicky said, that that's what the forums are for.

And one more thing. If the forums are more heavily moderated than the blogs, that would restrict the ability of bloggers to openly express their freedom of speech.

Blogs are a big part of PMC, if they were taken off popular reel a lot of good bloggers would lose inspiration, and we don't need that.
Blogs are just as good as mods,or texture packs.

I'm a blogger. I write little poems and stories for a hobby, nothing more. I use the blogs section because it makes sense to me to post my stories in an area that's dedicated to writing in general, be it actual "blogs", stories, poems or just plain ol' opinions. I also use the Forums a lot. The Forums, to me anyway, are much different. The Forums is a place soley for opinions. Someone'll start a topic on [Insert Here] and I'll reply with my opinion, advice, or whatever.

While, in theory, yeah, us bloggers could use the Forums to post our stuffs. I've no problem with that. What I d have a problem with is why move us? We're all happy in the blogs section, writing away our fantasies. What's so wrong with it? Well...

It has spam- So do the Forums.
People flame uor stories/blogs/vlogs - The Forums are often rife with trolls (No offence, mods)
Unoriginal/low-quality uploads are common- The Forums often have random and pointless topics.

Why people hate the blogs section is a mystery to me. I see no reason to get rid of it, and unless solid evidence stating why it should be removed is presented, it's not going to happen. You don't like the blogs section? Don't visit it. Easy as,

Message to Studnicky- You're obviously someone who dislikes the blogs section, and probably us bloggers in it. Could you be a sir and explain why? (If you haven't already, in which case gimme 5 to find it in the last few pages).
