Can't reach a single MC server?

Hello.

I'm not new to minecraft, nor am I new to networking and such. But about a month ago, whenever I put in a minecraft server address, (that isn't mine) it ALWAYS say "Can't reach server." I know that this could be due to the fact that the server might be down, but I tried about 10 different "24/7" server addresses, none showed up. Now, for some odd reason, whenever I HOST a server, my minecraft can see it and it let's me play on it. I'm not currently hosting one right now, though.

Also, (forgive me, I'm poor :P) I use mineshafter, if anyone has ever heard of it. It's like free minecraft. I was able to play on servers for about 6 - 8 months, but now they just don't work. Can anyone help? Is there a fix? I have found topics regarding this on other websites, but none had an answer. Thank you in advance.

Mineshafter does not allow you to play on other's servers, only your own server. Try to play on cracked servers instead. And if you want to play on servers, just get enough money and buy mc.

I think mineshafter only allows you to play on servers for a certain amount of time, if not this then maybe bad internet connection or something.

...Okay, @TikeRike, I already told you it says "Cannot reach server."
@epiczombeh, you obviously need to catch up on this, because (and I even said) I have been playing on mineshafter (cracked) servers for about 6 months now. Suddenly, even my FRIEND'S server, has stopped giving me a signal. Also, don't be an idiot, because before it stopped pinging servers, it would TELL ME when a NON-CRACKED server was opened, I just couldn't play on it. Seriously, is there anyone with a decent answer? Who knows what they're talking about?

Save up for normal Minecraft...you can afford Internet..Cracked mc accounts are always going to have problems and I don't think anyone on this site will be able to help with this problem because almost everyone buys its.

BUT make sure your java is updated to version 7 3 and go to the mineshafter site because they probably have some kind of forum help area.

PS- Try reinstalling it
