Unplayable Lag Help

Sometimes, we all need a little general help.

So, ever since I got my new PC, Minecraft has been pretty much unplayable for me. I can play for maybe 10 - 15 minutes and then I drop to 0FPS. I have tried updating Java, updating my drivers, playing vanilla, playing with OptiFine, and playing with MCPatcher. None of these worked. I know my PC is able to run it perfectly because I can run near every other game on the highest settings at 60Fps+...

PC Specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
8.2 GB DDR3 Memory
Windows 7 64-bit
GeForce GTX 570

If anybody could offer any insight as to why this is happening and how I may fix it, that would be awesome!

I've tried playing on Max, Min, and in between. It doesn't work. On my other PC which isn't as good, I can run with the very max settings on Optifine at about 20FPS. I should be able to run the same on here with at least 50FPS. And it does run that well, until about 10 minutes of playing. Then it just skrews up.

I am guessing your still with 1.2.5

A shot in the dark here but try forcing using less cores for the app cut it in half

also make sure you have correct video card driver..

I honestly wonder if people read the OP...

But alas, I figured it out. Turns out, the default download for JAVA is 32-bit. As soon as I downloaded 64-bit, it worked perfectly.
