Planet Minecraft

Note: This lag only applies towards Minecraft, everything else is fine.

When I play Minecraft on my laptop, it runs fine for about 30 seconds, then encounters about 10 seconds to freeze, then runs fine for about 30 seconds, ect.

It also gets a freeze when I try to open chat, access inventory, open up game menu, or use the GUI in any way.

My laptop is fairly new, and it has lots of RAM. When we first got it, Minecraft worked GREAT on it. Even when all it's setting was on high, we still we still were getting high performance. But ever since I went on my vacation, the lag started... Anybody know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Do you happen to have a lot of mods? Or is it just vanilla?

I have zero mods or texture packs, and I reinstalled Minecraft and it still has the lag.

Any help? I even completely re-installed the .minecraft folder... Same problem. Also I noticed the lag also happens when placing signs.

Any other help?

Try installing a mod called optifine if you still have 1.2.5 or go to options>snooper settings>Allow Snooper On<Click it and turn Snooper Off

It happend to me i dont know what it is. but it has something to do with 1.3.1 i think mojang might be doing something idk i could be wrong.

I downgraded to 1.2.5, yet it still happens. Also, Opti-Fine doesn't do anything.

EDIT: Wait.... Nevermind, I found out the problem. On my laptop, there's two power settings: HP Recommened and Power saver. Power saver saves energy by reducing performance. I accidently had it on that, HP Recomened makes it MUCH faster.

Nevermind. It worked fine for a hour, then went slow again.

FPS or graphics isn't a problem, because they're EXTREMELY high on this laptop, even with all the settings to high. It's just these freezes.

maybe try putting graphics on max fps and putting clouds off and setting render distance to small or tiny? also if u have lots of stuff on ur laptop delete them some games on the computer take up lots of space on your computer
