how easy is it to get donors?

Discuss the game, stories, screenshots, videos, ideas, creations, top score!?

Hey,
i was considering setting up a mc server but i dont have a particularly stable form of income to pay a hosting company..Im farely certain i can set up and run a server that will be pretty good as i am an alright builder! so i would rely about 50% on donors once i am established! do you think this is a bit ambitious or not?
thanks,

It would be easy if you had fancy graphics on a donor page on a website. and you had fancy features that people would be attracted to get so they get more comamnds and fly etc. Or they just fancy your server and want to help you c:

It is never easy to get donors. First of all, you have to make sure people actually PLAY your server and enjoy it and would like to keep it up. Second, you have to show the players you actually care about them by listening to them, and letting them share their ideas. Last, well, you just have to show that donations are kept to make the server better, not to line your own pocket.

No, it isn't a good idea nowadays to setup a server for donations. You would need to know how to setup plugins, ranks, permissions, a lag free server, website. Overall, it isn't a good idea.

Most Minecrafters are 14 - 16 years old and dont have paypal but a gsm, Take advantage of them Gsm hmm How do I get money with Gsm? Try targetpay.com Im also using it! I got 25 euros with that but thats only half of my expences on my server haha. There are more websites that provides Gsm donations however if I may ask, What are the specs of your server ( Ram , processor ) And your Bandwith (Mbit upload) and how many player sots you have & How many players are online?

Btw This is minecraft logic

Server with
1 player , NOOB

Server with
500 players but not better , YEP gonna try out

Give your users something for being online, it gets you more members = more donations = better server = better host = Minecraft logic :?

And to top what I recently, it's really hard to find players that like your server. There are so many servers out there and it's hard to get noticed.

(unless they can proove themselves otherwise)

yes but about 80% of servers out there are 'something lame CRAFT' all the same! got some crappy box for spawn and just a map of greif and boxes! something that makes noone serious want to stay and ends up with a load of 8 year olds with no basic grip of building or anything!
