Back in its day, this thread was a first of its kind-- a RP on PMC. Now, Forum RPs were unheard of when this was created. We were all entering taboo territory without knowing it. Now, if you look at the RPs, you'll notice the quality of the RP is terrible. However, this is because the proper PMC RP standard was non-existent back then, so we just rolled with whatever we had. Typically, the usual was a decent-ish paragraph.
Then, the original and first RP ended after many hours of roleplaying. Well, what did they all do? They enjoyed the first RP, so naturally they made a new one. This kept going on and on and on, until the next step in the RP Revolution.
Some others and I started wanted to do more RPs than one at a time, thus them and I created a bunch of different threads, many the first of nowaday's cliche, over-done ideas, such as a generic zombie thread, and a teen-with-elemental-power RP. Ironically, some of today's RP is worse than the RP back then, honestly.
The next step is when the RP community started finally existed. It was small, only around seven-ish people. The first that come to my mind are me, Kitty, Mdaddy, Trenty, Hiro and Anivaly. Those were the days, I tell you... Everyone was nice and likeable, the RP was casual and laid-back, but decent quality and paragraph posts.
Skip ahead around three months and then you have the more modern RP community. The standard had finally been settled, and the community had grown to around twenty-ish. Some were fun and likeable, but some of the newer were rather unlikeable and poor at RP. Clichés were decided, but there were still no expected specific things, just the basics.
Another month or two, it`s the current system. Standards are made, "No RPing in Third Person!" "No one-liners!" "No romance!" "No swearing!" "Ew, that idea is so unoriginal!" I know that I'm being a hypocrite by mocking those when I try to push those on others a bit, but the reason is that we shouldn't need those standards, and-- Oh, I'm accidentally turning it into a rant. You shouldn't really have many questions about this, considering you're probably in the RP Community if you're reading this.
Any way, this thread is currently dead, and a museum for our RP history, so please feel free to look at the eight-hundred pages we have for your enjoyment and/or intelligence.
Fun fact-- I'm technically the very first RPer, considering MinerMine can't really be considered a RPer anymore, in my opinion.
