I made a mod and I want to post it!

We're glad you want to post your mod on PMC, however, to maintain a level of quality control and more importantly, prevent spam, we have a few requirements before allowing you to post your mod.

As a quick overview, if your mod falls under any of these below, your request will go ignored/be denied:

• Is an ore/ingot/tool/armor mod. We've got enough of these, and they are too simple to make these days.
• Is a "colored block" mod. Same as above.
• Is made with MCreator/Linkseyi/similar "mod making" utilities. We don't allow these. This site is for hand-made community content; having a program do the work for you is not cool.
• Is a small edit to the Minecraft source (such as changing a few constants or strings).
• Is not executable code (plugins, client mods, programs are all fine).
• Is a very simple program, such as a skin stealer.
• Is a tutorial mod or similar "copypasta" code.
• Contains a virus or any other malicious code (obviously). Requesting a greenlight of these will result in an instant ban.

My mod is not any of the above, what do I need to do to post it?

• You have to have something to show us. You can't post ideas in the Mod section. You have to have something users can get their hands on to play. We prefer completed mods, not the just started alpha testing, do that with friends.
• You cannot post mods made with mod making programs. Linkseyi's Mod Maker, MCreator, etc are not allowed here on PMC. These mods will be denied, and if posted, they will be deleted.
• Mods should contain some sort of substance. Things like mods that only add tools, armor, simple blocks that do nothing, stairs, slabs, etc will likely be denied. Think outside the box, please - the community does not want to see the same mods made over 9000 times.
• Your mod should have a detailed explanation with it. We cannot judge your super awesome mod by downloading and installing it as some mods would take far too much time to do so. Additionally, some changes made in a mod are not something that will generally be figured out, or may add new items that have no obvious recipe.
• All mods obviously need to meet the rules and guidelines of the site as well. Mods depicting illegal or inappropriate material such as drugs, pornography, or mods designed to aid hacking, spamming, etc, are not allowed. Use common sense before sending in your awesome brothel mod, we will just say no and may ban you for it.

If you believe that you have met all of these criteria, send a PM to all Super Moderators and provide a link to a complete description/writeup, preferably with pictures, that also includes a download link. Obviously we will not be able to download and install most of the mods that are provided, both because of time/complexity, and for security reasons. Mods that are downloaded are generally done so to verify that the code is original and not taken from another mod or created using the previously mentioned modding tools.
