How to spawn a Steve (SPC)

In single player, get single player commands and type '/spawnmob monster' without the quatation marks that will spawn u steve, he follows you, attacks you, and tries to kill you
you can also do '/spawnmob giant' which spawns a giant, most people know the giant thg, a few know the steve thing, i jsut want more people to know it

i was in 1.8 and i tried to spawn him and nothing happened, do we have to be in a certain difficulty?

Steve NPC got removed after the first 1.9 pre.

How were people able to spawn him with SPC when they never released a SPC version that is compatible with it.

Is this a specific new feature, sorta of like 1.9 PR 5? Because the steve command doesn't work for 1.8.

I did. The giant worked but the Steve didn't. There's not even the "SpawnMob" command.
