Hello everyone!
I am going to build myself a new PC that will be used for gaming and recording, at the same time, i am having trouble finding stuff for myself as Pc part picker is not meant for Australia, you will also need to know that i am in Victoria, Australia, and i wont be traveling over to Western Aus to get this build.
I do hope that you can help me in any way, if you need any help from me, just feel free to ask me, ill answer it as best as i can.
The spoiler below has all the info needed about what is needed
I hope you all have a good day!

What is this computer going to be used for?
The PC will be used for gaming mostly, at battlefield 3 standards, i will also be recording these, so it needs to handle the gameplay and recording, and it will be used for video editing of course.
What is your budget?
I would like to keep under $600 if possible, perhaps a tiny amount more if its totally essential, i live in australia, so the the currency is AUD
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
I live in Australia, and i have never heard of a microcenter around here
What is included in the budget?
CPU, Motherboard, Case, Storage, PSU, RAM, OS, The keyboard, mouse, monitor are optional in this, i can go to a local store to buy these, thats all we have around here.
Will you be overclocking?
If it is recomended that i overclock, i will, but i have no experience with overclocking whatsoever, so i will need help with it
Will you be reusing any parts?
I will be reusing my graphics card, the XFX Radeon HD 7770 core edition, and also the optical drive from another computer in order to install the OS
What OS do you want?
I would like windows 7 or 8
Any specific case preferences?
I have found a case i would like, im not to sure if it would be good though, feel free to change it over to fit, it is the corsair Carbide series Spec 3
Any other special features that you want in the build?
I would like the hard drive to be at least 1 TB, more is ok though.

My dual core dual threaded g3220 runs games fine while having steam, skype, team speak/mumble, and chrome with many tabs, open. I get 45+fps with SEUS ultra shaders on while playing mc and on TS or in a skype call. Your GPU is most likely bottlenecking you or you are using a very old dual core such as a core two duo CPU along with a weak dedicated or integrated GPU.

My old laptop was running integrated graphics. I'm now running an AMD 8-core and It's pretty sexy.

TheShadbusherThis doesn't have an OS, but the parts are much better. If you don't want to spend the extra $60, you can always drop down to the i3-4150 which decreases the cost to $573.

I like how this one sounds, might do a bit of research on the parts themselves, perhaps find ways to save.

It's a stable, secure, open-source operating system that's slowly gaining support for games. It doesn't support DirectX by itself, but through programs like Wine you can run most Windows applications and games. Support for OpenGL games (like Minecraft) comes standard.

It's free and can play most of the games you probably plan to play.

Linux, preferrably Ubuntu.

Pro tip. Dual-core isn't worth it. For $600 (excluding the gpu and optical drive) I think you can at least get an AMD quad-core. And while AMD processors suck at single-threaded games, It's still better than any dual core.
1
Wrong. The Pentium g3220 trades blows with Athlon 760k/860k and the FX-4300 in games. The G3258 can easily overclock to 4.0-4.5 with tghe stock cooler which destroys AMD quad cores in gaming and trades blows with the 6300.
1
Not necessarily true. Not many games use more than two cores. The Pentium G3258 is an amazing budget CPU. It's extremely overclockable, and when overclocked, it can perform better than a lot of the AMD Quad cores
1
Dual cores work if the game is the only thing your running, but if your running steam, chrome, teamspeak, skype, etc. with a dual core cpu, you might run into some lag on your games. I wrote something much better that didn't look like complete shit, but PMC decided to delete it for me. Also, if you don't believe me, I had a dual core cpu. I had like 4-6 GB ram, which even with 4 GB of ram, running windows, minecraft, and a skype call should not lead me to 20 fps in minecraft.
1
Intel dual core processors have 2 threads each (most of the time) meaning it would be able to hand as much as a quad core AMD processor.
1
no just no.

It seems like you have a giant folder filled with gifs for the perfect situation. I like it.
1
Remember guys, i want the storage to be at least 1 TB, and ill be reusing my graphics card, and a for the optical drive, im going to use a different one for the OS installation
1
Remember, OP already has a GPU. So no need for an APU, or another dedicated GPU.
Anyways, heres what I got, to get it right at 600.

If you can, spend an extra ~80 dollars and get an i5, but honestly, this would probably get all you need.

This will be a great build for around $600. You will get the latest APU from AMD along with 8GB of 2133MHz(Extremely fast) memory to support the powerful built in GPU on the APU(APU is a GPU and a CPU on one chip that shares the system memory). If you are going to be building a PC for $600, this is probably the best you can get.

I think it is a bit better than the last one I made. It has a dedicated GPU, 8 gigs of RAM, and a dual core pentium that you can overclock the #&@% out of if you upgrade your cooling later. And it would also allow you to drop in an i5 or even an i7 later without upgrading your motherboard. Also, you could upgrade the RAM to 16gb. And with the new maxwell architecture you could even fit a 970 in there later(EDIT: Without needing a new power supply. I mean im running one on a CX430 from corsair with an i7 so I <3 Maxwell). So yeah, I think this is a better option.

Wow, parts are expensive in AU.
This is over 600, I know, but if you can find a different way to get the OS you can change the CPU to an i5-4690 and stay under 600.
I know the 4440 is outdated, but it is still a great CPU as you are also using a outdated graphics card.
And let me tell you, I am using a four year old HP OEM desktop with a Core 2 Duo and an HD7750 with DDR2 ram and BF3 on high settings is very playable, so are most other games, I can run MC with the highest possible GFX settings at 60fps, so yes this one is outdated, it will still run find and you will not be dissapointed.

Yeah, parts are rediculous in Australia.
Apart from getting an OS from elsewhere, are there any other ways you think i could cut it down a bit?
