Get more GB for your computer or Windows 7 on 64-bit (better both).

Do you have a chill mat for the laptop? Air can get through the vents / no blockage?
Also, be sure to take some compressed air and blow it out a bit. Low/no air flow = nice, toasty laptop.

get a cooler stand if you do not already have one, make sure the computer is well ventilated

you can use an compressed air can to blow out some dust from inside it if you take the bottom panel off

good luck!

I made my own cooling stand with some wood, an old fan connected to a USB cord. (back from when my laptop used to heat when playing BF2) and has lasted well.

Watch the air vents like Amish said, my macbook would overheat whenever I had it on a blanket mainly because the blanket absorbed the heat, though it could of been blocking the fans etc.

I'm not really too savy with this type of problem, but I hope you sort out the issue.
