A basic clarification:

Renaissance Era/Masquerade: For the layman, think Assassin's Creed II.

Made-up Superheroes/Original Supervillains: They must be your original creation, no pre-existing characters.

Book/Movie Characters: These however can only be characters from existing books and movies, you can't just make up your own. Believe me, you've got a LOT of choices with this as it is.

Cyberpunk: For the layman, think The Matrix.

Yea go made up super heroes!!
I love the idea because people can be creative and make a character which has powers. Im thinking of a guy who farts toxic clouds :D
