What are your thoughts on these 2 types of bullying?

Cyber Bullying seems to be the worst these days ... With Facebook and myspace...

Like Death Threats and stuff .. If you are being bullied contact your school or the police ... If you are being bullied on PMC contact a Moderator or Admin straight away and forward the messages.

Normal Schoolyard Bullies?
The ones that beat you up to look tough ... Contact a Teacher in the yard straight away.

Definition of bullying - Use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants..

Harassment is also a type of bullying ...

I'd like to see your opinion ... Whether you have been bullied before or not ...

If your a parent , I'd like to see your opinion too.

Keep it clean no profanity or inappropriate content.

My Opinion : They only bully people because their different , I say stand up for yourself tell them to stop .. If they don't ... Contact the Police if it's after school (Especially if their assaulting you.) , Contact your Principal or Talk to a counsellor.

If it's on Facebook just use the Report /Block button Report them and block them .. Problem solved.

Background: I was bullied in middle school and also my freshman year of high school. Middle school it was because I ended up in a regular biology class instead of the honors biology class....I think you would be surprised at how different the curriculums are in the honors/non honors classes. In short I was constantly getting ahead and because of that I usually ended out helping the teacher thus becoming the "teachers pet". There was a lot of name calling and in one instance where I tried to stand up to a girl who was making fun of me, and almost ended up with the c*** beat out of me. I finally managed to get the issues resolved by going to the principal.

My opinion: Bullies tend to bully to be the "cool kid". Most of the time they pick on people who are different then them or the other people around them. If you are bullied stand up for yourself, trust me most bullies will not resort to physical violence in a crowded area it's too easy for them to be caught and punished. If you're bullied go to your teachers or if its really that bad skip them and go to the principle. If its after school you can call the cops or bring it up to your principal seeing that everything school related, even after school bullying tends to go through them. For cyber bullies block them, contact the cops or your principal if they go to the same school as you. Do not just sit there and take it, stand up for yourself but do not fall to their level by trying to "get back" at them.

Anyway, thats my POV

Pardon my cynicism, but I think cyber bullying is incredibly overrated. Sure there are some legitimate victims who get stalked and threatened, but a lot of the time it's practically treated like a fad. "Oh no, someone called me names online, better cut/kill myself."

I've been bullied in the past ... The best I could do was ignore it ... It was mostly all rumours and stuff.

One day I grabbed my brothers USB which had pictures of Lego Star Wars and stuff ...

I thought it was mine ... I jumped onto the at school computer plugged it in ... Left to go to the toilet came back someone else was on my computer going through what he thought was my USB ... He saw the pictures ... Told his mates they paid me out ...

I explained to them it was my brothers USB that I must of grabbed instead of mine... They had to be childish and spread rumours ... So I had no choice but to go to my class teacher ... From then my teacher called the bullies parents ... They haven't messed with me since ...

Well, im 12 and just entered middle school, i have an eastern russain accent and a lot of people make fun of me for my speech ive told the princeible once, they went to dentention and after that, they STILL wont stop. and ive also been made fun of because i hang out with the "mentally ill" people because i feel bad for them seince they have no friends, so i try to be one and i get made fun of for that

I honestly haven't been bullied so bad that it scarred me for life, but when I get pissed people don't want to mess with me.

Tell the principal they are still harassing you.

No one at my school has seen me when I'm really mad ...

They probably don't want to either ... Except one kid that went to primary school with me ...

He was a so called friend ... He pushed me into a group of Grade 2's ... Hit my head on a wall ... So then I lashed out in rage ... Pushed him over .. Had a go at him... It happened surprisingly where there were no teachers ...

I have him in one of my classes this year ... He acts like a complete tosser ... I swear if he picks on me ... I'll probably lash out again.

Bullies don't respond to words as well as the understand violence, my advice, make them fear you instead, ofcourse this probably wont be seen as the "best" method but it should work. A bully wont mess with someone who puts up a fight, and although it sounds bad they will probably move onto some other kid who is weaker and unable to fight back, it's how life works and in all honesty life can be a b****.

This is my personal opinion.

P.S do it outside of school when the bully is alone, increase your odds (helps if you can run fast incase they try and fight back)

Bleyd i just read your comment and im thinking, How dare you Decide to think that bullying is "Overrated". Some people are being seriously harmed and you think this is all a big fad?

Plus outside of school = School can't do much about it .. Only if it's before or after school. So do it on a weekend or during school holidays ... I'm not too big on fighting but if someone swings at me ... I will fight back , I'm not afraid to because it's technically self-defence.

They dont phisicly bully me- they make fun of me and say stuff back to me when i talk with an l or r, cuz people from east russia tend to use Ls and Rs like Ws. So if i say something to my friend Brett like, "Hey dude you gonna play Black Ops With me tonite" They will pick on me and say, "So Your going to pway Bwack Ops with Bwett tonite?" and pick on me about it.
