You need to take steps.

You can't just go from newb to 1000 subs in one snap, now can you?

So just make some friends, build nice things (not dirt houses, "epic tenage scinnn!!111!", etc.), be helpful, and don't let the haters get in your way.

Besides, being popular is not fun.

For instance, Cyprezz walks into the chatroom of PMC.

noobcraftowner: hi ctprzz remeber meh
Cyprezz: No.
noobcraftowner: weg mhet the at stor remeber noa
Cyprezz: I've never heard or seen you before.
