Ok Whoever could answer these questions for me can be some sorta admin on my server that i will buy soon.

-612MB RAM - 512MB allocated for Minecraft - 1 vCPU - 4GB SSD - McMyAdmin - Bukkit - Full Root Access (SSH/SFTP) - Dedicated IP - Custom subdomain.mclayer.com - Daily Remote Backups
Would that be a good server?

That would be a good server... im not sure how many people that could take, but i would keep it under 20 cuz then u get griefers and noobs etc. A dedicated ip can mean one of 2 things. It either doesnt change...( mine switches every once and a while and is a pain) or u have the ip all to yoirself, meaning their isnt someone else using that adress for another server, internet, or watever, znd it will be up all the time (minus technical difficulties)
Srry for misspells and stuff, nook touchpads suck

Dedicated means that an entire server is devoted to you do you don't have a :22353 after your ip and it will be faster less lag and cost more. If you pay for it even If it's not dedicated it will be 24/7

Would that be a good server? Yes.
How many players could it handle? Around 30-40.
And what does dedicated IP mean.. It means a server that is 24/7 with a custom ip.

Info for ram usage:
1 player eath up to about 80-120 gig of ram
This number is afected by the amount of plugins you have

On my 4 gig server i could technicaly run 64 slots, but had to cut it in half due to 35 plugins. The slot number is not so important. lets say you have 30 slots, and average mc player plays 2 hours per day, so at most you could have a trafic of player reaching the number of 360 players per day in the optimum case. in real life good 30 slot servers have around 30 regular players and 60 iregular(a lot of players play on a lot of servers).

I curently run a 16 gig quad core linux dedicated server, not over a game host. Got it from a server host, its chaper that way but much more work involved.

Dedicated IP mean its only your IP, you do not share it with other people, but you can still run 10 minecraft servers on that server, all you would have to do is in the server.properties file change the port number from 0-64000. what ever suits you best.

hope i was of help
